This Laker team clearly has better scoring options. Took a big lead as soon as he went to the bench.

Kobe shouldn't have been on the floor in the final minutes of the game. He single handedly took them out of it.

Also had the second worst +/- ratio on the team. We shouldn't expect too much from the league's 93rd best player, although it would be nice if he could avoid being a cancer for once.

He was clearly dropped on the head when he was a baby. He thought that taking more shots automatically means that the Lakers win the game.

I don't care about the final number of field goal attempts I'm just wondering why at his age he's still trying to take people off the dribble and pull up from 20 feet 80% of the time he attempts to score. one thing he has maintained his footwork and craftiness as it approaches the basket. he should be posted up at least 40% of his touches. he's as skilled a post player as there is in the league at the moment. But with his drop and athletic ability he's no longer exceptional knocking down shots over defenders on a regular basis. beat some of these kids up 15 feet and in until somebody does something about it.

I agree with this, but obviously it's so much less work to settle for long jumpers off the dribble.
Also, his fadeaway is really being contested well as he doesn't have that lift you are referencing. He also seems really uncomfortable finishing around the basket as he's always looking to draw contact rather than score.
And there isn't a ton of space on this team for Kobe in the post either.
I think the best thing for Kobe would be to pretty much have a 25 minute cap on his minutes unless the game goes to OT...with him playing roughly the last 7 or 8 minutes of the game. While having a rule he can't take more than 4 threes in a game.

Because the guy is a ball hog. And games like yesterday is exactly why a good portion of the Laker fan base have never completely accepted him. Fans who want to see the game played the right way (team ball, ball movement, body movement) cringe at this guy. There are just too many possessions where once he gets the ball, he decides he's going to shoot it and doesn't even look to pass. :facepalm That is NOT how you play basketball. You should always try to look for the best shot on every possession. I understand on some possessions you have to do it but not when there is 20 seconds on the clock. :facepalm
Thanks for the rings Kobe but I look forward to a new generation of Laker basketball. One that doesn't involve you hijacking the offense.

It's also why a good portion of NBA fans in general have never accepted him as being as good as his hype. Great player, no doubt. Dynamic player, no doubt. Perhaps the greatest streak scorer in NBA history. However, never gotten the hype on this guy being a shoo in top 10 player. As skilled as he is, his selfishness prevents him from being in the echelon of those players IMO. As impressive as his overall skills may be, the negativity of his "score no matter what" mentality takes a LOT away from them.

He thinks he's better than he is. Iverson had the same problem.
I'm also wondering why he was shaking his head in disgust when Lou Williams missed the floater at the end.
1. He was the one who called a timeout when Randle had the ball and a decent chance at scoring
2. He was the one who passed Lou Williams the ball
3. Lou Williams had a good look with that floater...you can't ask for much more in 4 seconds

Agreed! That way he`ll be somewhat fresh, hopefully stay injury free and at his most effective.
Shooting 13 threes is just plain stupid.

The only thing Kobestans own these days is shame.
Lose at home to the reigning worst team in the NBA? Teammates freeze you out of taking last shot? Worst +/1 on the team (excluding the 19 yr old rookie who played his first NBA game)?
BUCKETS FULL OF SHAME.

Kobe looked terrible, the Lakers aren't going anywhere till he retires.
He talks about mentoring his young teammates then the game starts and he returns to chucker form.

Yup. Gonna be a LONG season if he decides to play solo.
I don't understand why fanboys call him 'alpha' for taking MORE shots than anybody else. Kobe isn't that guy anymore. Its time to move on from that era.

Alpha would be who kobe is. I'm not sure why they've brought these terms into basketball, but he's a leader, demands attention, and everyone wants to hang out with him. Being good at basketball doesn't really factor into being "alpha". Just like 99% of people who post using these terms are Omega males...

Kobe didn't look bad at all in first half he actually looked super good to me he is moving around much better than last couple of seasons but 2nd half he was selfish ballhog he played awful especially in fourth quarter.
