We can debate how good this guy will be until the cows come home. Honestly, we won't know anything until after one to two full seasons.

Right now, he looks like somewhat of a bust compared to Okafor, who was picked 3rd, and is playing really good at the moment. Lakers passed up on Okafor for this guy and that's why people are examining him with a microscope.

I haven't been impressed by D'Angelo Russell. However, it's still too early to question whether or not the Lakers made a mistake. I'm leaning on the side that they did, but we will have to wait and see.

He looks so tentative out there. Doesn't even try beating his man. He's still young tho. He's certainly a talented kid.

Lakers should have taken Okafor and the Kings should have taken Mudiay

Brandon Roy was a deceptive leaper and could really get up and was more athletic than Russell but he had poor lateral quickness and wasn't that fast. Randy Foye. O.J Mayo went pretty high. Ben Gordon.

I can't think really think of many off the top of my head. Foye and Roy didn't go as high as Russell either, none of them did. Not a great track record for guards who lack athletic ability and go really high. I feel like Foye is the only guy who's really comparable in that department with Russell. Outside of Roy Russell has better size than all of them tho.

Randy Foye and Brandon Roy were a lot quicker and more athletic than Rusell tho

All trolling aside, I feel it's going to be a hard watch for the Lakers fans this season.. Especially with Mudiay, Okafor, and Porzingis.

Actually, to be fair... Could probably add Hezonja, Johnson, and Winslow to that list too...

This guy wasnt chosen for speed. He was chosen for his passing. But honestly i am not seeing it.

Roy was for sure. He was a pretty good leaper and had some nasty posters. He did have pretty poor lateral quickness IMO. Quicker than Russell probably but wasn't a burner. Foye wasn't all that quick to me but I just could be going off recent memory since he's been playing on the Nuggets.

I don't know best I could think of :lol when you look at the top most of guards drafted are either elite athletes or far quicker than Russell.
