Didn't Obama say they wouldn't ever put US troops on the ground in Syria. US must really be that desperate to get rid of Assad :lol

I'm curious who on the NSC thought "Hmm, 50 people seems like enough." Apparently our leaders refuse to learn their lessons with half-assing an approach to combat operations.

Are they really going to fight ISIS:rolleyes: or are they still concentrating on Assad and not really going after ISIS.
Also why announce this on every news outlet...do they realize that their enemies watch television.

This is going to end up bad. I have a feeling this group of soldiers will be killed and blamed on Russia and the Syrian government. Which might start a bigger war against Russia.

Pretty sure every single combat operation is politically motivated, and not actually about whatever purpose they claim it to be. If theyre doing something a certain way, it's probably not bc they havent learned a lesson, it's probably bc thats the way that benefits whatever political/financial agenda is actually behind the initiative.

They invested millions in training and arming ISIS so it's likely they'll go after Assad.

Did y'all hear that Putin has ISIS so scared that they're shaving their beards and dressing up as women to try to sneak out of harms way. They know Putin ain't fcukin around.

:facepalm you're such a fool.
It's got nothing to do with propaganda. Putin simply saw an opening to shift the balance of power in the Middle East to Russia's benefit.
Russia is aligned with the Shia powers like Iran and the Assad regime. Iraq is also a Shia majority country with a Shia government that for months has been saying aligning with Russia might be best because Obama doesn't have will to do anything about ISIS.
It's not hard to figure out what is going here.

So you think it's wrong that Putin is attempting to destroy ISIS and end the Syrian Civil war by restabilizing the government and putting Assad, who a majority of Syrians support (http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/jan/17/syrians-support-assad-western-propaganda), back in to power?

Does the western liberal world only care about helping Syrians because they're white? Isn't that a bit racist? Why aren't we clamoring to help the Nigerians fight against Boko Haram? We aren't we trying to topple Robert Mugabe from his dictatorial seat of power? Why did we allow the genocide in Darfur and Uganda to happen but intervened to stop the genocide in Bosnia and Kosovo?
Why do you only care about helping white people, libs and dems?:confusedshrug:
Or does a white person with dark hair and a sun tan make them not white? Does that mean Spaniards who live in the sunny parts of Spain aren't white either?

Now Assad is winning on every front and ISIS is on the run, and suddenly Obama sends US troops to the region.

Your quote goes very well with your picture.
Some recent headlines.
Isis seizes ground from Aleppo rebels under cover of Russian airstrikes
Islamic State attacks Syrian army supply route to Aleppo:
Cut off by ISIS, residents stranded in Aleppo
The NY Times has a very useful map it updates.
The shaded areas are control/gains in Syria since Russia came in. The darker color is gains . Blue is Syrian government. Yellow is Rebels. Red is ISIS.
http://i.picresize.com/images/2015/10/30/0ecpx.jpg
So the Syrian government gained some territory included some from ISIS. ISIS meanwhile also gained territory, included that skinny L shaped road.
I'm pretty sure that Red L is the supply route mentioned here
Islamic State Cuts Off Crucial Supply Line for Syrian Regime (http://www.wsj.com/articles/islamic-state-cuts-off-crucial-supply-line-for-syrian-regime-to-aleppo-1445972386) to Aleppo
Battles continue between Islamic State and pro-regime forces near town of Safira

It's true that Al Qaeda has been doing a lot of damage to the secular army of the Syrian people ever since the US has been supplying them en masse with the latest and greatest anti-tank missiles.
Hopefully the Russian offensive can turn it around and help the Syrian people defeat Al Qaeda and Islamic State and end the war. We are only seeing the beginning. And above all hopefully the US won't try to interfere too much from now on. Their involvement has been a giant humanitarian catastrophe.
A couple of special agents helping the Kurds (who seem to be fighting alongside the Syrian Army) is fine, let's hope weakly supporting the Kurds is where US involvements ends from now on.

God damn you're thick. You've got about as much understanding of international relations as your hero Hilary does.
In America and Britain we have been peppered continuously with propaganda about Syria and the evil Assad, the need to do something, etc. The irony of a poor brainwashed child of western propaganda sneeringly dismissing a decisive act taken clearly taken for matters of keen self-interest (don't you known anything about the Chechen problem?). Russia should have far greater interest in what's going on in Syria than the idiotic Americans who fill the State Department should - it's really none of their business, and they've destabilized enough of the world with their utopian fantasies.

The consummate fool Trump evidently understands what is going on in Syria better than the Obama administration (and most of the other clowns in Washington too) - pretty funny really:
http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/commentators/donald-trump-is-much-derided-but-he-is-right-about-the-middle-east-a6698171.html
I remembered Trump and his anti-noise campaign when watching him in recent weeks being repeatedly interviewed as presidential candidate about the Middle East. The interviewers for television and newspapers were generally hostile, or at least patronising and incredulous, when Trump spoke positively about Russian intervention in Syria, the need to combat Isis and the disastrous state of Iraq and Libya. Most of what he was saying was common sense, but it is a measure of the degree to which propaganda slogans have replaced realistic discussion of these problems that his remarks were immediately dismissed or derided by politicians and the media.
A sad, sad state of affairs.
