This is what makes him the "Best in the world"...injuries have no effect on how he takes over games so easily

so in the two games since he's returned. KD's averaged 32.5/9 and rememeber he's just returned from a 10 month injury layoff, he'll be scary good with few more games under his belt

Best player in the world..and The Real MVP

Final stats for the game: 43 pts, 12 rbs (16-30) FG

Dude finds 4 still pics of KD below the free throw line and acts as if it shocking to see 2 or 3 players collapse on him. You'll find Tobias Harris, Rivers and Channing Frye getting similar attention that deep in the paint at times.

If that were true, double OT wouldn't have been needed FTW

:oldlol: This. Needed a miracle 3 from Westbrook and 2 OTs to get back the lowly Magic, yet he takes over games so easily:roll:

One of those doubles is beyond the 3 point line.

When guys in the game thread say he's playing bad and that he looks rusty, and he still puts up 43/12 - you know he's pretty good. I think both Westbrook & Durant will be better than ever this year, and KD had a 32/7/6 MVP season,

Someone compare his stats to Westbrooks yesterday or the first game.....

Westbrook>Durant

Not sure why you would say he is the best in the game while ignoring his teammate who has played better over the past two games.

The impressiveness of Durant doing this after a major injury has nothing to do with who is the best in the game.

Kevin Durant is simply shaking off the rust--including conditioning, as you could tell his shooting efficience faltered when his playing time was levied down the stretch--while he's re-acclimating himself to the grind of an NBA season. Once he's wholly back to fork and picks up where he left off in 2014--when he earned the BITW moniker, having outperformed and MVP-outvoted a prime-peak LeBron--there will be no doubt as to who the best player on this team and the planet is.

Until the recency effect screams that narrative, however, we can have a reminder; cross-compare the following records: OKC's record with Kevin Durant while Russell Westbrook was sidelined and vice versa.

Good post sir!

The huge positive is he hasn't lost his agility despite the numerous injuries...if he can keep healthy he is and will be the undisputed best in the world...I'm more of a Westbrok fan but Durant IS the better player.

As for the records.

2013-14: Thunder with KD: 59-18, Without KD: 0-5

2014-15: Thunder with Russ: 40-25, without Russ: 5-11

Pardon me for not mentioning the two offensive juggernauts in Perkins and Sefolosha...who can forget their 3.0 PPG averages?

As bad as Waiters and Kanter are...at least they can score in double figures on any night.
