If all of their games went to OT and Kobe played almost every minute, he'd be averaging 40/8/5. GOAT!

11 3PA per game on a 19% clip. :oldlol:

Kenneth was right, he isn't the 93rd best player in the L.

I can't tell if you're defending him or making fun of him. But yeah, if you take away 11 of his 18 attempts, he shoots efficiently.

i don't think we'l know how good he is until a month from now

to be honest i thought his fg% would be worse

people like to judge kobe after injuries these days. he was out with a bad leg contusion. before that he was shooting pretty well

I almost feel sorry for the guy now. He can't beat anyone off the dribble now, even Cousins picked his pocket. A poor man's JR Smith at this point.

You miss 100% of the shots you don`t take he said.

Kobe is now on course to equal that with the shots he takes.

and yet i somehow feel like theres people out there who expect more than that out of him. and give him a hard time when he isnt averaging prime statistics

Actually agree with this. 19 points on 18 shots or whatever it is...really not bad at all considering circumstances.

Who knows what will happen, but people are acting like Kobe has been good since the injury in 13. He hasn't...he's stopped playing defense even more now and he's been horribly inefficient.

His play so far this season is expected.

It sucks though...because he clearly still has something left...if he was in a great situation on a contender it would be really fun to watch.

I wish the Mavs could somehow take on Hibbert and Kobe....would love them both on this team.

He chose the illegal doping to try to prolong his career, but now has to live with the consequences that comes with it........injuries.

a) you act like you'd turn down being the highest paid player in the nba. even if you know you'd suck shit worse than any nba player has in league history

b) he's earned the right to have an ego.

c) anyone who laughs at a guy after having a torn achilles for not being able to perform at his usual high level is a disturbed individual that has nothing right going in their life. and they laugh at the misfortunes of others in order to feel better about their own

d) kobe is willingly throwing away any chance at a 6th title by NOT ring chasing. NOT accepting defeat. NOT giving in to doubters. and having the balls to go out there and fail. allot of guys at his age would rather take pay cuts and be the 3rd or 4th man on a title team. but kobe knows if he won that way he wouldnt get any credit for it anyway. only guys like tim duncan get a pass.

in the end... this is a man in battle. standing on his last legs. bleeding to death right before our eyes. but he still marches on until he breathes his final breath of air. and we should applaud him for his accomplishments rather than saying "what have you done for me lately"

you should all be ashamed of yourselves

Yes, for his salary I agree, but his play is more of the same it's been for quite some time.

He stopped playing all defense in 13, but had an incredible offensive showing...since then he's been really bad on defense and not efficient on offense.

So I don't see the surprise....the surprise would be if he played well and stayed healthy all year.

Not at all. The Mavs play a certain way on offense...Kobe could definitely be part of that. Kobe would respect Dirk and Harris and Parsons and Matthews and Williams...

He'd respect the hell out of Carlisle.

As for Hibbert. He'd be a really nice player of this team that badly needs rim protection.

Lying? Just no...25 minutes a game from Kobe and another 20 from Hibbert would definitely help this Mavs team as long as they played within the system.

I believe, firmly, that Kobe would be willing to try harder on defense and play smarter offense if he was on a good team and respected his teammates.

His stats would be fine, especially considering his age and injuries the last three seasons, if he would just stop chucking 3s. He's never been a great 3-point shooter, and he's only gotten worse as he's aged.

Take off let's say, half of those 3-point shots, and he's shooting around 11/25 for 44%. That's not bad for a 37 year old in his 20th season who's barely played the last three years.

I admire Kobe's alpha mentality, but he's smart enough to realize that he's just not a 3-point specialist. I imagine he's just chucking 3s because he's not in basketball shape yet because of his age and injuries the last few years. At least I hope so anyway...this is getting pretty silly.

Are people really surprised that a senior citizen who played like shit the past 2 years and then got injured is now... terrible? :confusedshrug:

Really the only surprise should be the absurd number of 3s he's taken to start the season. But with the way the game has been 'evolving', in a few years Bean this season will be viewed as a pioneer.
