View Full Version : Thick Theory: Not winning FMVP was the best thing to ever happen to Curry.

Winning FMVP could have make him cocky and overconfident. I think he has great motivation now that he didn't win FMVP, a repeat is imminent in this scenario and his ceiling is yet unknown. That team has pretty much ZERO ego issues.

Anyway, I'm not jumping ship guys (yet), this is just a theory I'm sharing. Still a huge stan of LeGirth.

Great point.

But I think Curry is God and self motivated more than anything. That's why he's the greatest; he doesn't need anything other than himself and God to continue striving for excellence.

He's a great man of faith. Maybe the Tebow of the NBA.

why is Mr. Jabber acting like this?

Did someone hijack his account?

He's looking for his shot a lot more now. I wouldn't be surprised.

The best thing about him is that he didn't sabotage the series when it was obvious he wasn't gonna win the award.

I doubt he gives a crap about the finals mvp. The goal is to win the title. The finals MVP is pretty much meaningless. It's a nice trophy but big picture it's completely meaningless. It's only about 1% more important than the all star mvp which is less valuable than getting to play 1 minute in a real game.

And he didn't win the award, his face straight after he heard the announcement said everything, he was fuming.

Easily one of the dumbest things I've ever read on ISH. Majority of the time Finals MVP goes to the best player on the championship team. To call that meaningless and compare it to the all star game is a ****ing joke

I'd rather root for Lebron than the last incarnation of midget chucking guard.

I thought that too but they showed a better clip immediately after and he was cheering Andre when it was announced. This was a wide shot of the whole group. Funny how that works. Its on YouTube if you care to
see it.

Oh yes... because Curry lacks confidence and is the most humble guy in the league, right? :oldlol:

That is one of the cockiest teams in league history and he's part of the reason why. Not that there is anything wrong with that, btw.

depends on his mentality.

he showed signs of ''cockyness'', ignoring his teammate after making a big play.
he makes an open three after missing last 11 shots then celebrates as if game7 winning shot.

not winning FMVP could be the best thing happened to Curry ..

Well, OP was right. A repeat was imminent.

Not for the Warriors.

But definitely for Curry's FMVP votes.

He went from a "maybe" star with ankle issues to the GOAT 3PT shooter in NBA history. You think he really cares about the FMVP after winning B2B MVPs and the only unanimous MVP in NBA history? Sure, he'd like to win one and he probably feels that he got robbed in 2015, but the biggest motivation for him had to be blowing a 3 - 1 lead in the Finals and coming up way short in a Game 7 that was decided by a couple of possessions.
