Pretty basic really...KD is taking more of a Robin role as he works his way back from injury.

he legit is lol, I honestly can't see how they can continue to coexist anymore, Westbrook legit deserves to try and get his (where as a few years ago it would be considered a purely ego thing), yet on the other hand so does the once MVP durant.

They won't be on the same team next year.

Russ misses games in 2014 KD puts up one of the GOAT months in NBA history. January 2014. It was an incredible display of dominance we have rarely ever seen in this league. He torched everyone, hit multiple clutch shots and gamewinners. He averaged something like 37/6/6 on 55/45/90 but those numbers dont even do his impact justice. MVP was wrapped up after that month never seen an MVP race end so quickly since 04 KG.

KD missed games in 2015, Russ had a great wellrounded triple double streak going. But his numbers didnt succeed his impact..............

KD without Russ was on pace to win 62 games
Russ without KD was on pace to win 44 games

that pretty much says it all.

It's about to be 2016 why the hell are you talking about 2014? Watch the games, it's Westbrook's team now. Get with the times before you start become CavsFTW part II.

he is severely limited by his lack of vertical thats for sure, but Durant is a cripple at this point so its a bit hard for him to be anywhere near as good as Westbrook.

Who cares? Both guys have always been true to themselves and played the exact same way. It's not the best case scenario for fans or maybe even their career numbers, but they've had no personal conflicts, and there is not a team currently in a state to add one of the two via free agency that would give them better odds of winning than they currently have playing together.

It's early and the trade-off ball isn't my favorite to watch, but I see their combined overpowering talent being the only threat to dethrone the Warriors

pretty sure Westbrook played without Ibaka while KD played with Reggie Jackson and Ibaka.

actually yes,

Westbrooks starting lineup

Russell Westbrook
Dion Waiters
Andre Roberson / Kyle Singler
Enes Kanter
Steven Adams

KD's starting lineup

Reggie Jackson
Thabo Sefolosha
Kevin Durant
Serge Ibaka
Kendrick Perkins / Steven Adams

the difference here is the dropoff from an MVP level player to Andre Roberson is greater than an MVP level player to Reggie Jackson, plus Ibaka > Kanter (Kanter plays no defense at all while Ibaka plays both sides)

so no Hamatoro, that does not pretty much say it all.

What's more impactful than sending the game into OT with a half court shot? KD's "impact" is meaningless if Clutchbrook doesn't take over.

Westbrook was main man entire game and couldn't win against a far inferior team. Same when Durant was out. Sure looks like Westbrook scoring a load of points isn't very efficient if you want to win.

You do know KD's clutch 3 tied the game before Oladipo raped Westbrook for the potential GW. Hitting that lucky banked shot doesn't suddenly mean he's more clutch.

KD is without a doubt a smarter player than westbrook but westbrook can impact more facets of the game and seems to have that gear to take over. His mistakes are much bigger than KDs but he seems to be getting a bit more mature season by season.

Oladipo was being guarded by Robinson on both his 3s

Neither are Robins. You know duos don't always have to have 1 alpha and 1 beta. You think Superman/Batman have a beta?

Batman is clearly the alpha of that duo. Sorry, but Supes is a prototypical beta by nature and has no problem being Bruce's Robin.
