My bad fellas, but never too late than the present.
One main observation I have is this team does play hard, and that is the first thing any fan could ask for. Eventually they will translate that into winning consistently.
Moving on to game 3, I see Melo had that stroke. Poor Dudley, sometimes it's not good to open up your mouth.:lol Also loving the play of Galloway. He is so clutch and definitely should be starting the games.
I wish Fisher would end this Calderon experiment, the guy is awful. He's a negative even when he hits his shots.
Next game up is against the Spurs and while they are solid, they arent playing to their capacity so we may be able to snatch this one up.

Agree on all points. I'm glad we're facing the better teams early; it'll help refine the product on the floor. Totally on point with the Caldy comment... I also wonder if A.A. is gonna add anything this year (not that I think he's a difference maker).
Here's to a better season!

Knowing that they are improving makes losses like last night's much more tolerable.

So far this season has been enjoyable to watch. Being competitive against better comp is very watchable. I dont really analyze the losses because I'm more focused on the teams development. As they get better, some of those losses will become wins.

Long time no see fellaz. A lot more of the same with the Knicks. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with KP. Not that I thought he'd be a bum but I thought he was a project. In fact, Phil even said so. I'm most impressed with his rebounding.
Other notes: Melo is taking a while to find his shot. For a minute, he had zero lift. He still gets zero foul calls in the paint. Last night Jefferson and Williams literally landed on his head and....nothing. Still, I think he should be persistent. Maybe even get a few techs (along with Fisher) to send a message. His best seasons as a Knick he had high tech totals. He can't revert to settling for jumpers just because the refs are being *****
Other than that, Fisher's substitutions are clueless, we still manage to every year have one of the worst starting PGs in the NBA, our roster lacks talent and I already have buyer's remorse with Lopez.
On a bright note, these guys play really hard. When we lose, it's not for lack of effort. I didn't expect much from this team. I just want to see growth, especially from our young guys. Can't really complain in regards to that.
I'm seeing the decline in melo. He's not as consistent as he was before. We have a bright future, all these guys love playing with each other.

This isn't a bad team at all. Even in the losses these guys are very competitive whereas last year we'd be losing by 20+ daily. Now we're losing by a few points and sometimes in the last minute. They need to close out better though. Fisher may be bad with subs and rotations but he has the guys playing hard and getting some good value out of players right now. Hopefully, with time he gets better with his subs.
Trust in Phill Jackson. Everyone is expecting him to lure Lebron or something because of his pedigree but you need to have some realism. He's done a great job with what he's worked with.

Agree. And I don't have a problem with Melo being second fiddle, if his ego will allow it. Look for Jax to reboot the backcourt and go after another decent FA signing next year.

I'm sorry but I just don't see how this is true. Phil Jackson has done one thing good and that is his draft pick. If he built this team properly, we would be a problem with KP already solidifying himself as a starter on a rookie contract.
I know we're happy these guys are playing hard, but need I remind you, the players who are giving us a boost aren't locked up long term. The guys who AREN'T playing well are.
Robin Lopez
Jose Calderon
Kyle O'Quinn (who I like but has somehow found himself in Fisher's dog house)
I'm sorry but I don't see how that is "great" at all. We're .500 with a team that very well might not even be with us next year. So let me remind you once again:
Arron Afflalo- Player Option
Derrick Williams- Player Option
Lance Thomas- FA after this year
Lou Amundson- FA after this year
Sasha Vujacic- FA after this year
Cleanthony Early- FA after this year
Kevin Seraphin- FA after this year
Now if Phil goes out and utilizes his cap space this summer and hauls in some quality FA, so be it. But to say he's done "great' thus far, without that having happened, is just being oblivious to reality. Reality is, our biggest FA acquisition has been terrible and we have a slew of expiring contracts.

Plan on a big free agent signing. Of the list, I see Early and Williams possibly returning. I think Phil has made the most of what he could during the last free agency period. This team will be MUCH more appealing to players now that they have a pulse, and a budding young star. After last year's debacle, I have no problem in being positive regarding our franchise's future. But then, everyone knows this -

It's still early days but I wonder what the thinking around trading Melo is now that KP is progressing more quickly than expected? Personally, I'd like to see us keep Melo and see if we can transition him to being a second option if/when KP really blossoms. I think Melo could flourish with less scoring volume pressure on him.
But maybe Melo is never really going to accept that role... I have very little idea about the various trade scenarios so this may be way off, but would there be any chance of exploring Melo for Durrant? It's looking quite likely he walks and OKC might be open to getting value for him? Not sure what we'd need to package with him to make it viable though? Would Melo go for that? It would be a stronger option for him to get a ring but he'd be joining Westbrook's team.

kp would not progress this well if we didnt have melo..get that through your heads...
we are just missing a dominating pg to run the offense and step away from the triangle
grant is still a few year away from being that, and the big free agent next year is conley at the position and westbrook the year after
We've always had shitty pgs my lord are we ever going to get a decent one

I could see Phil making a big run at Conley... I've thought about this more than once. They keep chanting KP's name; Melo will get the hint. Dude knows he needs a ring to be worth mentioning years from now. But if he won't adapt his style of play to fit the team, I think he needs to go.
GSW got this championship in check. That teams impossible to beat. We gotta build for when that team self destructs.

Nope. Hire Luke Walton right now. Can't wait. I've always thought the plan would eventually be to step fisher into the front office and hire a guy like Walton.

I find it disturbing how the rhetoric is "Melo needs to buy in or get out" when
a.)he's played as well with KP as anyone on the team. where is this anticipated rift coming form?
b.)KP has played a grand total of 13 games and we're ready to push Melo out for him? That sounds a bit "Linsane" to me :oldlol:
c.) Last but not least, are we conveniently forgetting Melo is leading our team in apg? Seems like the rhetoric should be about the other players finding a way to mesh with them.
The Melo hate needs to chill.
Good win against OKC tonight.
We fcking suck in the 4th quarters that needs to change
Lopez needs to handle the ball better he's a TO machine

Pozzy wouldn't be as effective as he is if Melo wasn't here. Melo is still the focal point when team's plan. Pozzy won't be the man for a few years.

Agree with Draz, our 4th quarters have been way too close the past few games. They had OKC game in the bag but let it get way to close, within 5 points when at one point we were more than 10+ points above them in the 4th.

This is a really sweet journey to enjoy. Havent had a blue chip rookie to root for in a long time, and I agree with most. No way Prozingis could do this without Melo's impact on the floor. Porzingis isnt the focal point of teams defenses and wont be for a while. he can contribute knowing he has a shield of shields in #7.
I was thinking about something? if Porzingis can keep up his play, is all-star as a rook in his future?

Yea because it's fan voted right? Truthfully, it's been a minute since I've seen this many rookies play up to their hype in a while except D'Angelo Russell ( who I wasn't to fond of to begin with). I have to say I was wrong about KP. I never thought he was a bum but I thought by the time he found his way, Melo would be old and gray and on his way out. This has been a pleasant surprise. I'm most impressed by the rebounding. I didn't see any of that in his overseas games. He crashes the boards WAY better than I expected. Now if we can get the 13 million dollar man aka Sideshow Rob to do the same that'll be great :facepalm

Last night's loss was kings expected. We can't every one. We're on a brutal road stretch and Miami is a really good team nobody is talking about. They're arguably the most complete team in the East with Kyrie out.

Fans obviously vote, but who makes the nominations? If Porzingis gets nominated, I think he gets in with this kind of play. He's out there doing things that has been noted as things Shaq and Duncan did as rookies and both of them were in the all star game as rookies.
I doubt prozingus will get voted outside of the NY fan base, perhaps a few. But not enough until he's proven. If anything Anthony Davis will before him.
The loss to Orlando was a prime example of why we need a second guaranteed or third scorer. Melo > Prozingus > etc
Everyone goes cold. What do we do! Ain't shit but jack up shots. I notice prozingus is also taking some three ball attempts that I do not like. Some looks to me a little like he's forcing it.

Good point, although Anthony Davis has nothing to do with Porzingis making the all-star game.

Well, they both play the same position. Davis was pretty popular when he came out. I still think Davis will be a fan favorite outside of NY

Well aware that the 1 is the biggest issue. I've no doubt that Phil is aware too.
For all his warts, Caldy has given us what he can. Grant looked good last night; needs more minutes. It will be an interesting off-season (tho I can wait... the team is fun to watch).

What's the general consensus on Phil here? I think he's been in office for about 2 years now. He really hasn't made much progress in my opinion. Outside of a fluke pick, I don't see anything being better. Yeah, he's saved cap room, but who would really sign with us next season? This team is a joke.
Haven't watched the last 10-15 games, and I'm proud of my decision.

Hey fellas...
Well, this is year 2 with no assets (unlike Boston) seems par for da course.
Acquiring a PG isnt easy. Would have been cool to bring Jennings in at least he has some skills.
