So experienced and skilled.
I think Dirk has quite a few more vintage games left in him.

his signature off the glass shot out of a double team was just beautiful. the slam dunk as well!

Dirk's signature shot itself is as unguardable as it gets. But if he shoots it off the glass as well.

7 feet with that jumpshot is going to hold off father time for a while. He knows his limits and isn't out there gunning to the team's detriment. Dirk is still very capable of 18 and 7 on good percentages.

why didn't Mark Cuban keep Tyson Chandler in 2012?

why didn't Mark Cuban keep Tyson Chandler in 2012?
Because Cuban is stupid. He somehow thought that
1) he'd get Dwight Howard and
2) he was the only person who had understood the ramifications of the (then) new CBA. He thought that cap space would be at a premium and that good free agents were going to fall into his lap by the dozens.
3) It was a good idea to waste (at least) one year at the tail end of Dirk's prime in order to remake the roster. Even though he had just won a championship with Dirk playing in god mode during the playoffs, he somehow thought it would be easy for him to get a player that's better than Dirk, and make Dirk the 2nd best player (he stated that as his goal)

Of course he was wrong on all points. But that shouldn't surprise you, because Cuban's simply a guy who's too stupid to see that he's not the smartest basketball mind in the world.

Racial side note:

Numerous studies have shown that while men of west african ancestry have the highest testosterone levels during puberty, they decline rapidly throughout their 20's, and are shockingly low by age 35.

Men of european and middle eastern ancestry aren't quite as high as west africans during puberty (but higher than anyone else), but on average are higher after age 25, and sustain those levels well into their 50's.

Glad I'm 1/2 european!

Translation:

Kobe needs the juice.
Dirk can still cruise comfortably for 4-5 more years, if he wants.
The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

less is expected of dirk

hes averaged 19ppg the last 5 years combined

and he doesnt rely on athleticism at all. can just shoot over people. doesnt have to move around allot on defense

not surprised hes able to keep it going after 17 years. but the end is near
