I know that its too early to judge his decision to opt out and his stats, but did Ellis made the right choice with Indiana? Seriously, even with George back?

It was and is clear that Monta benefited from Dirks spacing, but outside of that, i think that Monta just loved being a mav before this stupid rondo trade....

mont ellis stats so far: 10 ppg, 4 ass, 29% FG and 4,5 PER

Cuban ****ed up everything by trading for Rondo cancer when he had Monta all along.

Monta would be an all-star if he played on a good team with proper coaching. He has never had a true opportunity.

He's always had the opportunity, he was a 25 ppg scorer in gs and the main option.

Monta hasn't had the opportunity? The guy has been like a 40 mpg, 1/2 option player on every team he's been on since his second year in the league. Even the year he came of the bench for GS he was second in FGA, only 20 behind Davis and 276 above the next guy. He's played under Nelson, Skiles, and Carlisle.

How would trading for Rondo effect Monta on the Mavs. Monta's a 2 guard.
Did Dallas have him playing the point?

He's a scorer and should probably be coming off the bench instead of starting. That's my opinion. I'm always rooting for Monta. He's made a long career for himself after being picked almost last in the 2nd round straight from HS.

Those Golden State teams that Monta played on were half filled out with d league players, no hyperbole. Their coach was alcoholic senile Don Nelson. That was a cancerous environment and not a good situation by any means.

U say Monta benefitted from Dirks spacing now but last season u were saying Monta was the best player:facepalm :facepalm

anyone that isnt a retard knows Dirk has been the best player on the Mavs literally every season after his rookie season

Barea played like shit with Love after winning a title and going off with Dirk. Stylistically Love as a stretch 4 should impact Barea the same but he didnt have Dirks positioning, footwork, skills and IQ. Jet completely fell off without Dirks spacing. Vince has been complete shit in Memphis.

no more open jumpers and open lanes for Monta like playing with one of the GOAT offensive mismatches

LOL Nellie wasn't senile. He was insane though. He drafted Curry though.

Yes our teams were shit but that was because our ownership was shit. However the environment was not cancerous until we lost Baron and Stephen Jackson became the leader of the team, lol. We signed Maggette and Crawford, lol. The truth is Monta actually was part of the problem because he refused to play with Curry initially. Plus he's always been stubborn because he was advised to change his game up and learn the point guard position. He said he wasn't going to do it. So there it is.

I've always felt his game was ideally suited for a 6th man, especially if he was on a contending team. He's instant offense and would be a perfect "microwave guy" off the bench. He's one of those guys who's always been a good player but could never really take that next step or find an optimal role.

3 game into this season he is still by far the best player on the Mavs.

With Dirk still playing at this level they might make the playoffs this year, even grandpa Dirk is better than Phoenix, Sacramento, Denver or the Jazz.

He started great past couple seasons then fell off tho. He is too old and too battle worn and physically deteriorated to continue this level for an entire season at this age. Especially his defense will get exposed more as the season goes on

Repeat this sentence out loud.

"the environment was not cancerous until we lost Baron and Stephen Jackson"

Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis are two known cancer players. These guys are not the guys you want leading the team. It isn't a good situation in the first place and after they leave and get literally get replaced by D leaguers it doesn't get any better. Add Nelson to the mix and it's officially ****ed.

TBH i can see them win 40 games, i said it before maybe even more and outside of Rockets,Thunder,Spurs,Clippers,Grizzlies they can win against every other Western Conference Team.

Spacing is insane on this team, nearly everybody can shoot 3s and even Zaza has a nice midrange game.

Inside defense will be maybe the worst in the league, but we will see a lot of fun 114-113 run n gun games.

It's been 3 games, give him time to integrate into the new system.

Create this thread if he's still struggling after 10-15 games lol. The sample size gives us no indication whatsoever.

Sorry but you're wrong. Baron was fine on the Warriors. So was Jackson until they drafted Steph.

Ellis wasn't very efficient in Dallas and he'll be even less efficient without Dirk setting the screens.

There is a reason why the Mavs didn't try to re-sign Ellis.
