Today Ohio will vote to legalize Cannabis, the most medicinal plant in the world which decreases chance of lung cancer when smoked, has zero possibility of overdose or death, is not a gateway drug, does not lower IQ, doesn't impact memory, doesn't kill brain cells, and doesn't cause white women to have sex with Mexican and black men.
Anybody in Ohio voting today? It may be a monopoly, but we can't wait for the perfect initiative. It's time to legalize NOW! GET OUT AND VOTE!
Are you being sarcastic? There's actually little study on the drug itself and there's also scientists and some research that suggest it's actually beneficial.
But, regardless if it were all of that mentioned above, it's still not as dangerous as alcohol and deserves to be legal. For the cancer patients or at least medically for people that don't use it for recreational purposes.

Cannabis is seriously the worst drug of all time. Like how ****ing boring do you actually havee to be to actually enjoy it?
Ughh, I want to be lazy so I'll just smoke some cannabis.

99% chance it won't pass.
here's the problem:
Ohio is a major battleground state. It's very divided. So in order to get the money (25 million dollars) to get this bill up and running they needed to get some major financial backing. There is language in the law that creates a marijuana farm oligopoly for these backers.
So it's yes to medical and recreational MJ, but it creates an oligopoly on pot farming in the state. The bill allows for people to grow their own, but not commercially.
So because of the give and take even Ohio's pot heads and youth are not unified on the issue. It's gonna fail. It's a shame, IMO.
Also, Dan Gilbert does have a casino monopoly in Ohio that voters did pass not too long ago, but this monopoly issue is the breaking point for this bill.

It's going to be extremely close. So close that nobody is even predicting the result.
If it wasn't for it being a monopoly it would pass with flying colors.

Legalize it Ohio.
And stop drinking alcohol and start smoking weed. And please do so in the safest form (a vaporizer...or edibles) out there so you aren't inhaling combustion smoke.

Smoking cannabis has been proven to decrease the chance of getting lung cancer
Vaping and edibles are awesome though

I think an Ohio MJ bill needs to be uniformly supported by the youth and have at least a bulk of the liberal vote. So many young people against it. So many liberals against it.
Personally i can give two sh*ts about the stupid oligopoly. Who cares. Issue 2 might nullify it and the Ohio SC can nullify it on its own. One of the jobs of the judiciary is to review, interpret, and make law.

It's sad that people are going to deny medicine to the sick just because some people will be cashing in. It's a fair trade off.

Not even close to the most "medicinal plant in the world" more of OP's bullshit.
That said if cigarettes and alcohol can be legal I see little reason why it can't also be legal.

So you come in and say it's not the most medicinal plant and then you name a grand total of 0 plants that have more medicinal value.

Aloe is great, but how many conditions does it treat or ease?
For cannabis, there's hundreds.

Not surprised
A monopoly is the perfect thing to campaign against. Americans love to hate rich people a lot more than they love freedom. Nothing new about that.

It was a really stupid proposal. Make something legal, but only a few people are allowed to sell it. Who thinks this stuff up?

You aren't gonna raise a ton of money for campaigning without some candy going back to the investors.
this campaign has been rumored to cost 25 million compared to colorado's 3 million for their legalization bill.

Lol, fat chance. Did people forget that outside of Cleveland we are super conservative?
If it wasn't a monopoly this would have passed without a problem
I would have been surprised if this passed tbh. Just disappointing

Most Ohioans want it legalized. The monopoly was the reason most of the people voted it down. Why replace one cartel with another constitutional based cartel?

OP what do you care about Ohio laws? You aren't from Ohio, and you don't obey laws anyways because you hate authority.

It's another step towards federal legalization. Every domino helps
I can't wait for Trudeau to legalize it in Canada. Amerikkka will feel the pressure then

Yeah but why care about laws and legality anyways when you made an entire thread about not caring about laws or legality and that you do your own thing?
