Steph scored 50+, Kobe goes for 81
Steph gets 11 3's in a game, Kobe does 12
literally anything Steph does, Kobe has done more

I like watching Steph play too because he reminds me of a light skinned millenial Kobe

Except everything Steph has been doing looks smooth, easy, and not forced.

When Kobe was at the top of the game, I felt he over complicated a lot of things but he still got the job done.

Style is completely different so he doesn't remind me of Kobe at all.

And for the stats you have mentioned.... Just wait... Steph will have his share when his career is over.

Except score efficiently. Or not needing a dominant big to win 50+ games.

if by "more prolific" you mean "requires more FGA for the same PPG" then you are correct

only thing kobe does better than steph is throw up shots.

whether the shot actually goes in?

Curry's shooting skills are on another level.

Also, let's not act like Curry couldn't score 81 if he wanted. On a bad team, I could see curry putting up video game numbers like that.

his memory is still invoked everytime Goku throws a kamemameha

just like we gonna think about Kobe when we see Steph hoist up a 3

I wouldn't be surprised if Steph personally thank Kobe in his speech when he wins the finals MVP this year.

Curry is super streaky. He's going to have a ton of 3-15 games. Kobe was always consistent, until the finals at least.

he was consistently bad in the finals... But yea Kobe was a better all around player than Curry... As a scorer Curry is way more efficient than PRIME KOBE THOUGH.. Curry is also a much better passer... Still Kobe in his prime was better than Curry:rockon:

Curry has also never had the luxury of having big men as good as Shaq and Pau Gasol offensively in the low post. Kobe doesn't capture 5 titles without those two.

Calling Kobe any version of Steph isn't fair to Steph, he plays team ball, to defeat their opponent. Kobe just tries to score every chance he thinks he can and we have all see Kobe, year after year, go into his delusional tunnel vision mode where he can only see the rim. When he is hot, it works, when he isn't, it's just ugly, and the ugly is becoming consistent. Kobe may have been a more "prolific" scorer, but he wasn't anywhere close to the same level of a team-mate Steph is.

Steph gets dogged for his finals performance, but without him taking all that pressure, his team-mates doesn't get the opportunities they did. Kobe would have forced it in that situation, Steph just let the double come and got the ball moving to his team. The eye test tells you Curry didn't choke in the finals, just the box scores suggest it.

Older fans(ya, I'm in this group) need to realize Kobe is done, he's in the twilight of his career and he never shook the selfish label. It's not even fair to compare him to a consummate team-mate who also happens to score a lot.

Kobe is an all time great, but come on, he never fit into a team system the way Steph already has, and that's an immeasurable shortcoming. ISO ball is dying, Kobe is a relic of an outgoing era.

Curry has both entire regular seasons and playoffs where he had a higher 3pt% than Kobe did FG% in his PRIME.

Kobe's efficiency is pathetic, and Curry is one of the most efficient players in the league.

Volume scoring doesn't automatically mean better scorer.

Curry's career TS% in the playoffs is higher than Kobe's best year. This is with Kobe getting hot, for him at least, over a 18 year career and playing 7 years with Shaq. They aren't anything alike. If Curry gets hot its a whole different universe. And he passes along with him blazing.

Curry isn't an elite defender and doesn't get to the line as easily as prime Kobe.

So no.

Not to mention for all his TEAM success Curry hasn't had any signature/epic moments that are so crucial for GOAT level players.

Oh yeah, he also got shut down by Dellavadova in the Finals.

Curry isn't an elite defensive player, hasn't won a Finals MVP and got shut down by an Australian midget in the finals.
