View Full Version : Kobe Bryant stuck at 5640 playoff points :(

In May of 2012, Kobe Bryant (aged 33) had accumulated 5640 playoff points and it seemed a mere formality that he would surpass Jordan's record for most post-season points, which stands at 5987 points.

Who would have thought that those were the last points Kobe bryant would ever score in the playoffs. It's astonishing how unpredictable things can be in basketball. Players could almost fall off a cliff overnight or get injured and never be the same.

At the moment, it seems that Lebron - barring a miracle - is gonna shatter that record. He has 5020 points at the moment and is on pace to surpass it within 2-3 years. He will almost certainly surpass Kobe's mark by next year.

Bump. Lebron is 60 points behind Kobe now and will almost certainly overtake Jordan by next June. At worst, he'll be the 2nd best playoff scorer of all time by next June and he'll breaks the record come the following May.

He's sitting 3rd right now and will be 4th for the foreseeable future once LeBron passes him

"Stuck" isn't the term I'd use for being top 4 in playoff points but whatever

I want y'al hating mother fos to come back in 3 days.

Talk smack now and enjoy this

Let's see if Curry turns things around and I GUARANTEE he does, upon which he surpasses Kobrick all time and knocks him to 13th.

All he has to do is surpass Kobe's career finals numbers of 25 ppg on 41%. He does that and he's gold.
Next year he'll go for the jugular and start aiming for a 3 peat and MJ finals numbers.

Mark my words branvestites and kobrick lovers. Curry will have both of you crying in tears the entire summer by the time he wraps this up in a week

I just realized if you add Wilt and Lebron's rings together, you still wouldn't have enough to pass Kobe!

Bron gotta wait for 2019 at the earliest.

Curry is a guy I like and a part of the team I thought would win but he most certainly isn't my favourite.

That's Lebron and he's top 3.
Keep melting down with the rest of the Kobe fanboys

3 fmvps are all he wanted. Legacy sealed and in the back pocket.

Nothing else matters now:D

What's really impressive is the fact that he didn't even need to become the best PO scorer of all time to accumulate the most missed PO shots of all time:applause:

His shooting percentage is lower than most of the top scorers. That's why.

Incidentally, Lebron will overtake him and Kareem (and possibly Jordan) by next June. As crazy as this sounds, the all time leading playoff scorer will be a playmaker.

He'll be the top all time scorer in the playoffs - where it counts - and top 3 all time in playoff assists, by next June.

He'll end up with the most finals points since the merger. And this is a playmaker!
Allow that to sink in.

That's a shit load of points in the playoffs.

It's not a good look to poke fun at the amount of playoff points a guy has when you can count on one the hand (excluding your pinkie, ring, and middle fingers) the amount of guys who have ever played basketball that have more.
