Just take away Calderon and Sasha, and they get better. Addition by subtraction.

The obvious answer is LeBron. Right now, LeBron could make the Knicks a true contender in the East. He's known for carrying scrubs to the playoffs and beyond. They wouldn't be a true contender, as in NBA Finals, but they would make some noise in the playoffs.

If you're talking about all time, then I'll go with Michael Jordan. With the new NBA rules favoring guards, Jordan would feast on any current team in the NBA. Not to mention, his will and desire to win would have a tremendous impact on every player on the Knicks roster. In the east, who knows how far a Jordan led Knicks team could get. I wouldn't bet against him.

Im so nba'd out

lebron james. He can be the pg of this team and his ability to guard 1-5 helps with the defense load off lopez.

Lebron would be a very weird fit on this Knicks team. They need a PG BAD.

Paul would turn this team into East contenders

Lmao. I remember when LeBron left Cleveland. Before, with Lebron, they were a 60+ win team. After LeBron left, they were a lottery team and got the number 1 over-all pick.

It amazes me, till this day, how much of an impact one guy had on an entire team. It's like LeBron was Superman or something and Cleveland was Metropolis. After Superman left, Metropolis fell.

We can joke about LeBron till we get blue in the face, however he's one of the most remarkable players to ever play in the NBA. Truly amazing.

no they don't the triangle doesn't need point guards

if they got Beverly to run point and Kawhi to add to the perimeter they'd be dangerous

Lebron wasn't the only person to leave the team, they lost multiple starters, their 6th man, their coach, their GM, etc. etc.

For the Knicks to be title contenders? They would need a NBA 2k Shaq with all the levels turned to max.

Worst backcourt in the history of the NBA.

Calderon is the worst defensive player in the league and vujachick just sucks. I don't know what the hell Phil doing adding him. I guess he is supposed to be a backup to Afflalo. I need to see Grant start and once Afflalo is back, Knicks can be decent.

sometimes I wonder if we wouldn't be better off with fisher running pg and calderon coaching

Bron+Melo will be lethal.

:lol I'd rather the rookie start. Grant. THROW HIM OUT THERE, it's not as if this is a championship team that he will cost a ring for. Porzy is out there and I love him, but he gets into foul trouble every game even when he is doing well. Grant is less a project, but he plays good D which Caldy doesn't. I'd rather see Galloway start over Vujachick, I just can't stand watching him play. Hated him as a Laker and hate him even more now that he's on a team I root for :lol

grant is indeed a bright spot.
porzingis is gonna be a beast, excellent fluid release, mobility, size and long hands. He just needs to get THICK.:lol

That's why I don't understand the people saying this team is going to be good. With those 2 as your starters their backcourt D is non existent.

Calderon is Fisher with better playmaking. But Fisher did throw in a hard foul every now and then.

Never fear, Caldy is playing his way to the bench. When the bench outplays the starters, you know the writing is on the wall. Also, it's time to start looking at the Melo trade thing again. More than ever, his style doesn't fit this team's needs, and they're showing they can get by without him. One step at a time.
