Off to a pretty shit start. Regardless, I think this group has run its course. Same problems every year.

Not to mention they're boring to watch. I'm sick of hearing commentators cream themselves over their "grind it out" style. OMG so different.

Agreed. Trying to sound like they actually know anything :oldlol: ...truth is if you decently defend the paint against those overrated af bigs they're done. Their guards are garbage. No1 can score on that team. Once they trail by 7+ pts you know they'll never recover.

No, but they're always gonna be the same team with this core.
55+ wins/elite defense/below average offense that can scare any team in a series but absolutely will not win 16 playoff games.
They're as good as it gets for a non-championship caliber team but it's just that, they're not a team capable of winning a championship. You can't win a title by being average or below average on one end.
They've never been a real contender. At no point during their run from 2011 to now did I see them potentially winning it all. You gotta to be able to score in order to do that.
Last season I was rooting hard for them against the Warriors because I wanted GS to lose but I knew deep down even though they went up 2-1 they wouldn't be able to pull it off. They just don't have enough firepower.

I feel like Zbo is finally washed up, dude fixed his career in Memphis but it seems like it is time for him to take the David West role and come off the bench for a contender. Hell, he could start too for sure, but since the new championship formula includes a stretch 4, he'd probably be more effective off the bench. Doesn't Cleveland have a trade exception...?
Marc Gasol isn't going anywhere, he will play out his contract in Memphis.
Mike Conley contract is expiring, he will probably sign elsewhere. D'angelo sucks, Mike, you welcome in Lala land :oldlol:

One of their bigger strengths in Tony Allens defence, is also their biggest weakness, his offence. It basically means they spend the whole game playing 4-5 on offence.

Will never understand how a professional player has such a tragic offensive game, smh. He always misses wide open looks.

I think my sudden dislike for this team is because of Matt Barnes. **** that guy.

Not all franchises think championship or bust. I think the management is way happier now than in the lotto days so they'll try to milk this success until they can. Marc and Conley still got some years, the only move I could see they making is getting rid of Zach.

Grizzlies are a post all star week team. They will be a threat playoff time and will have no problem seeding at least 6 in the Western Conference.

I'm a lifelong Pacers fan but I follow Memphis as well.
The Front office of Memphis needed to go after Jimmy Butler hard during the off season. They could of convinced him that Derrick Rose is done and the Bulls are over. If they offered him Max and he joined they would of had a serious shot at the title.
Conley
Butler
Barnes
Randolph
Gasol
Tony Allen sixth man
They would be the best defense in the league and Butler would boost their terrible offense to a suitable level. Instead Butler is rotting away on the Bulls and the Grizzlies are incomplete.

Said it before the season, the Jeff Green trade put the nail in the coffin in this Grizz era. It was worth the risk at the time, but what hurts is learning after they were eliminated that they could've had Gallinari instead. He would've fared much better than Green at energizing and modernizing the team.
They've started much worse than I could've imagined, and not a single guy out there is hustling. Joerger needs to go, but I doubt they'll fire him. He hasn't done anything to change a dysfunctional offense in 2 offseasons, and the defense just keeps slipping. Hollins commanded respect and got it with this type of team.

Tony Allen is holding them back. They need someone who can hit 35% on open 3s. If you're a SG and can't do that or create off the dribble, you shouldn't be in the league. You can't help a team in today's NBA.
One on one defense hardly matters any more anyway. Was Allen able to stop Steph Curry? Not once the pick came, which it does on every single possession.

They never were a consistent offense with Gay either. They actually started to pass more and have had more success without Gay.

It's been touched on: the front office is happy with where things are. They can reach 50 wins, bring people in, and not be the lotto dwellers they were for so many years.
They are gonna ride it out. Have fun, Memphis fans.

Z-Bo should come off the bench and have Green start at PF.
Conley
Lee
Barnes
Green
Gasol
Play a more fast pace game where Conley can still excel and Green is utilized at the best of his abilities. Shooting all-around gives Conley and Gasol more room to operate. Would've loved to see Afflalo or Matthews instead of Barnes, but it is what it is. Right now, they just look stagnant on offense. Not feeling the Z-Bo/Marc pairing anymore, but yeah it's still really early...

I think it's probably too early to completely blow it up since the team has seemed content to keep rolling with the same (more or less) group of guys.
I do think that they will wait too long to blow it up, though. I don't see them making a ton of improvements over the summer, either. Fully expect them to throw huge offers @ Harrison Barnes and DMo/Terrence Jones.

He's still better than current Dwight Howard.
