Zero Times
For a man who always brings up this mythical number, he's never actually accomplished this himself. Well, if you count two playoff runs he did it. In a 15-20 game stretch.
You'll have to go back to the 60s/70s when this was done by the likes of Wilt, Elgin Baylor, Pettit, Walt Bellamy, Kareem, McAdoo did it for an entire season.

He won the Finals MVP 3 consecutive times though. And has one of the best peaks of all time. So who cares

I hate posts like this
I thought you'd know better Kizzle
Pace was insanely high back then, and the there was no 3 point line, and the lane was like 6 feet

He seems to quote that number specifically whenever the topic of Nash winning two MVPs over him surfaces. Shaq had a legit MVP case in 2005( even though he didn't avg the numbers he constantly references), but he didn't have a case over him in 2006, nor a number of other players.

The point is not about him winning championships and MVPs, it's about this mythical number he ask big men to put up, but never did it himself.

Shaq was at his best in 1999-2000. He was gunning for becoming the first unanimous MVP.
Averaged 30/14/4/3 over 79 games. Not good enough for you?
But hey he scored 1.7 more points and grabbed 1.4 less rebound per game. TBH, why 28/15? So random. Why not 30/15?
Anyway, some guy from Atlanta f.cked it up and after that he never cared that much in regular season.

point of basketball is to get championships not to amass numbers.

Put Shaq in the 60s and he'd average that in the first half.

Who cares?
Why take it seriously?
Shaq has said tons of stupid shit over the years.
Dwight has always been an excellent rebounder.
Though I will add in regards to Shaq himself putting up those sort of numbers.
From 00-03 in the playoffs he averaged 29.4-ppg / 14.6-rpg in a slower paced league then we have had now or since then.
So he was able to put up those numbers over a 4 year stretch in the playoffs in the slowest pace league ever.
Not bad.

So you've made a thread about Shaq saying some arbitrary number, which he probably put up many times in his career in single games, and even if he didn't, randomly spewed out, since he was averaging total numbers in terms of points and rebounds equal to that in his career...
Good one Kizzle. Well worth a thread.
Shaq said he averaged 28/15, but he only really averaged 30/13!!! Who cares bruh? You and your threads suck. This one is no different.
