Offensively and defensively, who is the better player and who is the more complete player?

Both did work on KD on both ends in the past week :pimp:

This is tough, but I'm going to have to go with Leonard seeing as he is the reigning DPOY. But you could go with Butler and I'd have no issue with that, both are fantastic players

Talent wise they are equals but Leonard is just more poised and makes better decisions.

Leonard is about to widen the gap this year. I don't see many people putting Butler in their top 10 conversation.

Athletically- They are even
Shooting- I give the slight nod to Jimmy
Rebounding- Kawhi
Passing- Slight Nod to Jimmy
Perimeter D- Slight nod to Kawhi
Post D- Even
Post Offense- Slight nod to Kawhi
Steals- Even

There's only a 2 year difference. I would say Kawhi is just slightly better than Jimmy. He's less prone to mistakes. I still don't think you are losing with either guy.

Pretty much spot on, except for the shooting, I feel like Kawhi, as of this year, has Butler beat in that category, at least within the arc. Regardless, neither of them are exceptional 3 point shooters.

This is going to be an amazing matchup on November 30th.

At the end of the day, they are both great players and great for the game of basketball.

Jimmy is better at absolutely nothing

Kawhi has a ring and a finals MVP

He did a great job guarding Lebron, something Butler cant do

Would butler be a better player with pop as his coach? I think so.

Depends who the coach is. I will take whoever Pop is gonna develop.

Leonard is also naturally bigger, longer and taller. That also matters.

Jimmy probably would have did just as good a job as Leonard if he had the opprtunity to play for the Spurs instead of the underachieving Bulls.

You could go either way with this. There is just such a massive advantage to playing in a Pop coached team that it's too hard to tell with players so evenly matched talent-wise. It's gonna be interesting to see if he can not completely shit himself like he did last playoffs. And if he does, it's gonna be amusing to see him once again get zero criticism.

Lebron vs Kawhi in the playoffs: 27/10/6 on 49/43/79 shooting

Lebron vs Butler in the playoffs: 25/9/8 on 41/20/80 shooting

All that matters is thickness

Another interesting guy to throw into this comparison is Giannis.

He seems to have taken his game to the next level this season. Not as poised as these two, but probably more gifted athletically than either.

I think this one is closer than what many people think. But I would give the edge to Leonard because he's the more unique player. Butler is a great defender. But Leonard is one of those guys who can defend PG to PF in the mold of guys like a Pippen, Bron, etc. Plus I think scoring wise he is AT LEAST Butler's equal. In other systems that Leonard would be around 21-22 point mark scoring the rock. But neither one I would consider a true alpha dog kind of scorer. I think that's the next for those guys in their development.

But I gotta admit, I think Leonard is a bit overrated as of now. I don't think he's a top 10 player in the world. I believe he's more in the top 15 range. But I could EASILY SEE HIM as a future top 10 player if he continues his rate of improvement.

This is by FAR the biggest edge leonard has on just about everyone. Lets not forget his hands either. The physical gifts are more than just speed, jumping, agility, but length and size are HUGE.

kawhi for versatility and the fact that while butler is at the max level of what he can contribute offensively, kawhi has better coaching to learn from and would be averaging 23 in many other team systems

Shut the f**k up - Lebron shot 39% 2pt (61/153) / 10% 3pt (3/28) last year against the bulls, mainly defended by Jimmy. That shooting is worse than his finals shooting
