So as I scroll through nba.com watching highlights, checking league pass and all I start to reminisce on one of the guys that made me first love the game. Kobe Bryant, my first season where I passionately watched basketball was the 05-06 season. This season was very special for a few reasons:
1. The final chase for the scoring title. This was the last time that there was an actual battle for the NBA scoring title. Kobe bean Bryant running away with it at 35.4 ppg, however many people forget about Allen Iverson averaging 33.0 ppg AND Lebron James averaging 31.4 ppg. Kobe however...proved to be too much.
2. The 'game'. Although it become a blow out who could forget the 81 point masterpiece done by Kobe Bryant. Never has a player scored in such high volume with such a good percentage in our era. You can talk all you want about how it was against the raptors. But 81 points....is still 81 points

3. The game before The 'game'. Those who believe Kobe's 81 point game was his best scoring game, don't even remember this game. THIS game was better for two reasons. #1 it was against the Dallas Mavericks a fully healthy damn good WESTERN playoff team and #2 he outscored an entire team by himself in three quarters.

4. The battle against phoenix. A series that went to 7, and the series that finally showed the LA front office hmmm maybe we need to get our boy Kobe some help. Kobe averaged 28 ppg, 5 assists and 5 boards on 50% shooting and took the phoenix suns, a team with 2 kobe stoppers in shawn marion and raja bell to 7 games. He scored 50 points in game 6, however the suns proved to be too much (i think any team would prove to be too much if smush parker was starting.

5. The frustration games: Kobe just came off a two game suspension. He drops 48 on the sixers, and 50 on the clippers (40 in the second half)
