I'm a lifelong Pacer fan but I have been following the entire NBA as of recently. Sources say DMC is unhappy with Rondo's attitude and lack of work ethic. It's been a pretty toxic situation in Sacramento for DeMarcus's entire career and he wants out before it's too late. He is only 25 years old so many teams have expressed interest in DeMarcus and preliminary talks have already been started.

It'll be interesting
If everything bombs, I'd want to trade him to a team like Boston for some of their young talent
Imagine if OKC somehow got him
Damn

After how stupid their front office was this summer I'm enjoying their losses.
Plus when gif reaction cries, I'm happy.

He's a talented player but I'm not sure he is a guy that creates meaningful wins for a franchise. At some point it isn't the coach, the personnel, etc etc... this is his 6th year in the league. And he at 25 is in his physical prime.

That's the reason I don't want him. It's always someone else but the issues are never his fault. There was a bunch of articles talking about Orlando being their most likely trade partner due to being able to offer Vucevic and young pieces, I hope it doesn't happen because I think he's a good player but has a track record of being mediocre.

Skiles definitely doesn't tolerate nonsense, but I think he'd fair better with him than Karl.
Carlisle and Pop could handle him. Doc has a way to connect with players. Malone was a good balance of toughness/understanding/smarts and he got canned of course (good job Vivek!).
Also re: potential trading spots. Celtics have another Brooklyn pick swap and another unprotected 2018 pick coming their way. Apparently 2017 draft class is getting mad hype already. They have the Dallas pick that's top-7 protected. They have a top-12 protected Minny first. They have picks than the 2016 Nets pick to offer.
If they give up that pick, it's not like it's the end of the world. I would wait, if I was Ainge, to see where it lands before dealing for him. I don't think Boogie leaves during the season. Teams will low ball imo during the season. He has 2 more years on his deal after this one, I believe. Still should fetch 2+ first rounders and at least one stud young player. Then again, Vlade hasn't been a good GM.

I think Cousin's percieved value on message boards/by writers like Simmons is higher than what GMs believe.

I was gonna say, I don't know where you saw that here. We already got rid of one mental case, and none of us here want any part of a sequel; we've been salivating over this Nets pick. However, there are some weird Celtics fans out there who think strange things ("They're totally saving cap space to get Durant in free agency.") Can only shake my head at GreenTeamers believing that shit.

I hope so. I've seen a few articles listing us as the best trade partner, I guess from a Kings point of view trying to be realistic it'd be an attractive offer. I hope Hennigan sticks to his moto of getting high character guys and avoids DMC

your team legit has too many picks/young players, you can't develop them all

Thought for sure you were getting Winslow in the draft.
Based on what I read leading up to the draft, Henni wouldn't trade for Cousins. I'm pretty sure the rumors where you guys got listed as a trade partner originated from Simmons wanting to pair him with Dipo & Elfrid (he loves those 2 guys). I guess it made sense since Vuc is an underpaid big he could be a placeholder for Cousins in SAC+ that #5 pick would have been nice.
Thought that it would have been an overpay tbh though.
Lots of teams (I think) will have Cousins on their wish list but based on how bad SAC got owned in that trade with Philly, I think Vlade is gonna get low ball offers. Just my 2 cents. No inside info there.

Hezonja was hard to gauge though imo, there was talk of him being annoyed at his team for cutting his minutes so I was holding off judging his rep a bit. I think the execs who got to interview him would have had a better look at how he is as a person. I agree though he is a bit cocky but so far everything he's done looks like he's cocky in a good way and he's actually been a willing passer which was my biggest concern. Needs to adjust to the pace of the NBA though, he's got the athleticism and talent just needs to put it all together. Skiles has him on a short leach though, if he messes up he gets pulled from the game and is in the dog house.
DMC needs to go in to a winning system. If he goes to a team that's losing it'll just be more problems. I don't think he can turn a team around I think he needs to join a team already competing and that already has a winning culture and staff.

If you pick great players and a couple of good Duke Kentucky players who know how to play as a team that wont be a problem
This isnt the early 2000 where every high pick wants to be MJ
These kids know in order to keep a job they have to run an offense

PER's of 25+ and for two straight seasons are not common. His BPM of 4.7 and WS/48 of .15 are both legit stats that indicate he is a strong value add.
He's 6'11 and 270 pounds with GREAT hands and is under valued defensively. There aren't too many players at that level who could be had for a draft pick or whatever. He's a very valuable asset. If you're a team looking at an 8 seed, this is the kind of player you have to get or you might as well blow up the team and tank. He's a risk but one worth taking given well....if he gets his head on straight he's got super star potential.

You know the team that makes the most sense to me, is philly. They have all the assets in the world. This is a legit guy who if you have the right pieces you can build around. They'd need a full year to make moves to start the building around him process work, but that team has a mountain of assets to work with to get the right talent.
I think Boston can certainly put together the most attractive offer if Boogie does go on the market, and I do think part of the reason Ainge has stockpiled so many picks/young assets is so he could make a massive trade offer for a Cousins-esque player. I am a big Cousins fan, and given the chance I would trade for him if I were Boston, but it wouldn't be at the expense of the Nets pick. I'd be more inclined to package a couple of our young guys (ie Sully) with the Dallas pick and one of our future 1sts - or something to that extent. But if we have a shot at getting Simmons, we have to go for that. Besides, if Boogie wants out, it's easier to lowball. Not every team overpays like Cleveland did with Love

I don't think he can turn a team around I think he needs to join a team already competing and that already has a winning culture and staff.I buy into the dissatisfaction with his club/coach. That guy imo tried to sabotage his draft stock. He has this great self-confidence but it can devolve into straight-up cockiness. I loved him pre-draft-he was my top rated wing. I think he's gonna be really good. I couldn't find the tweets, but a credible NBA writer (maybe it was Lowe) said that Orlando targeted Porzingis & Winslow. There was caution with Hezonja due to his personality profile, but he could have been fed false info.
That's a good point with Cousins. I do think finding himself on a non-dysfunctional team would be a big step in right direction lol. I think they should send him to the EC anyway. Don't want to play that guy more than twice a year going forward.
