It's 2/6 or 2-4.

Would be absolutely incredible if Love led his garbage team into the Finals again

Early unexpected results. I must say though that the West have less good teams this year while the top 5 teams are stronger (except for the Rockets). Grizzlies and Pels started bad.

In the East, teams like the Pistons and the Magic are playing surprisingly well. Maybe we will have more average/good teams in the East this year.

Damn, the east is a freaking bloodbath.

Kyrie is the best PG in the league if he manages to take us to the finals yet again.

I'm surprised at that number because the first week it seemed like the West beat the crap out of the East every game.

I highly doubt this is going to stand for long, the Rockets and Pels will get a lot better as the season goes on, and the only year in recent memory where the East was better than the West was 09' when there were 3 legit title contenders there (Magic, Celtics, Cavs) whereas now there is only one (Cavs). The West still has 3-4 teams who can reach 60+ wins whereas the East doesn't.

*I meant East better than West in terms of h2h record

The Least is still historically terrible, and your hero is still 2/6 despite being gifted Finals appearances with no real competition until reaching the Finals.

Deal with it.

The records don't really matter. There's still only 1 and a Half contenders in the east, and 4 maybe 5 contenders in the west.

That's the only thing that matters comes playoff time

Let's deal with it. Here are the stats for the Cavs and GSWs to the finals:

GSW - NOP 4:0
GSW - MEM 4:2
GSW - HOU 4:1

CLE - BOS 4:0
CLE - CHI 4:2
CLE - ATL 4:0

The numbers are almost identical. One may even argue that Cavs opponents put up more resistance than the numbers indicate. In the process Cavs had to fight hard enough so that they lost two starters. Compared to this Warriors path to finals was just a walk in the park.

Yeah, the fearsome Evan Turner-led Celtics and Hawks team who lost every game by double digits really gave the Cavs a run for their money. :oldlol:

LeBron plays in a conference where he literally has a bye to the finals every year. Unprecedented in sports history. No superstar in any sport
has ever enjoyed consistently playing in such a handicapped conference like LeBron has.

And he's still 2/6

Yea, Magic didn't play in a really tough conference at some points in his career.

The difference is...nobody refutes that really. At least nobody that watched back then. The Lakers were loaded and the competition was not always that great.

So why can't Lebron fans...just admit that the East has been demonstrably easier both in the regular season and playoffs for most, if not all, of his career?

I think it's indicative that you have to lie to advance your argument. here are the actual scores in CLE-BOS series:

GM 1: CLE 113 BOS 100
GM 2: CLE 99 BOS 91
GM 3: CLE 103 BOS 95
GM 4: CLE 101 BOS 93

Only one game ended with double digit difference.

For comparison, here are the scores for GSW-NOP series:

GM 1: GSW 106 NOP 99
GM 2: GSW 97 NOP 87
GM 3: GSW 123 NOP 119
GM 4: GSW 109 NOP 98

Two games with 10+ point difference.

But let's not stop there and check the scores for the next round:

GM 1: CHI 99 CLE 92
GM 2: CLE 106 CHI 91
GM 3: CHI 99 CLE 96
GM 4: CLE 86 CHI 84
GM 5: CLE 106 CHI 101
GM 6: CLE 94 CHI 73

GM 1: GSW 101 MEM 86
GM 2: MEM 97 GSW 90
GM 3: MEM 99 GSW 89
GM 4: GSW 101 MEM 84
GM 5: GSW 98 MEM 78
GM 6: GSW 108 MEM 95

Sure, there were a lot of speculations before the playoffs about how the West is much tougher and how it was unfair for the West finalist to spend so much more efforts and then face relaxed Cavs. The reality however was very different. All those clueless NBA commentators are simply repeating the myths that someone came up with long time ago.

The truth is that Eastern teams play much better defense and it shows in the playoffs whereas Western teams are running and shooting like crazy and playing no defense during the regular season padding the stats and producing fake superstars.

Bad sign for the Cavs' prospects. The only time in the past 15 years where the East had a winning record as a conference, Bron and the 60-win Cavs couldn't get out of the second round.

Maybe Kyrie being healthy will prevent a repeat? :confusedshrug:
