The Houston Rockets have waived Chuck Hayes.

Waiving Hayes clears the way for Terrence Jones and Patrick Beverley to return.

Hayes could ultimately retire into a coaching staff role with the team, but is focused on continuing his playing career this season, sources said.

Clippers cut him before the Rockets. He was way out of shape.

Has he ever been in shape? Underrated player though, and does a good job of what he does do.

Rockets figure that KJ McDaniels, is pretty much a better version of Chuck Hayes.

Has he ever been in shape? Underrated player though, and does a good job of what he does do.

when he first came in the league he was in great shape. He's never going to be a ripped golden god or whatever, not his body type. He's such a small guy for his style of play.

All that said he's a good player and I can't imagine he's not a good locker room guy. But he's old....and well he was never athletic. He doesn't have tim duncan length...so yeah his days are numbered. If not done.
