Sup guys?
I am in the market for a new video game upon completing Arkham Knight and Resident Evil.
Let me warn you that I haven't been a video gamer for many years but just recently just started playing non sports games again so I am pretty ignorant about gameplay info, interface and all the stuff that dedicated gamers keep up with but I been havin fun with some of these titles.
Anyway, I know Fallout, Battlefront and new Tomb Raider all come out either tomorrow or mid November so I'm asking those in the know which would be the best to purchase? I'm only gunna get one but having trouble deciding on which will be most satisfying
Any idea which will be the most fun or best bang for the buck?
Fallout looks really badass but not familiar with that series or how rewarding roaming around post apocalyptic landscapes will be. Also, dunno if it would be a quick story then bam, no longer useful. At the same time, I played that Walking Dead weird show/game hybrid and it's pretty dull so don't really want something like that. Do Fallout games have sufficient action and mayhem?
Tomb Raider series was a lot of fun when I was young but have no idea idea how the new console versions play. Are they hard? Frustrating? Etc.
Star Wars looks great but at the same time, is it just a regular run of the mill first person shooter with classic Star Wars battles or a mix of different fighting styles?

Fallout by far IMO. Star Wars was pretty boring and generic and I feel the same way about tomb raider games. Fallout is always a great game.

I'd pick Fallout 4 if I were you.
Bethesda games are known for having a lot of depth and being games that you can put 100+ hours into, and not even have most of the quests done. It's a very non-linear game, and the new one is said to have a great story to go along with the huge world. As well, the console versions will have mod support, which will greatly extend the life of the game, not only on PC.
I'm getting Battlefront first, because I'm a big Star Wars fan, I thought the beta was pretty fun, and some of my friends are picking it up, but I'll definitely get Fallout sometime before Christmas.
Can't say much about Tomb Raider. I'd still take Fallout over it though, if the reviews suggest anything. Not that it's bad, but with the way you play games, it won't last you very long. It's pretty much "quick story then bam, no longer useful", which you said you don't want. Unless you're a huge fan of the action-adventure genre, I'd recommend Fallout over it.

Fallout 4
Star wars was too casual for me to invest any decent amount of time into for a online FPS. I'd get bored of it quickly. Tomb Raider looks great but it might only give you around 20 hours of gameplay. These days with the price of games you need to get your monies worth.

I'm leaning towards buying Fallout cuz the visuals and tone have me about sold but I'm just not familiar in what the story entails or demands.
Appreciate the feedback though cuz I'm a poser with a game controller lmao

Well, it's very self-contained. You don't need to play any of the old games in order to understand this, it's a new character in a new setting with a new story for each game. It's like a post-apocalyptic GTA.

Ok cool. That sounds good because anytime you hear a fourth installment of any kind of paid medium you wanna know what you're getting yourself into.
I saw the trailer and it looked great but the monotonous dull nature of that Walking Dead game had me a little apprehensive on dropping the coin for the full game even though I know this is a real game but all the dumb shit WD made the user do was lame

You play it? What makes it legit?
The nostalgia factor alone has me somewhat interested but sometimes the new styles don't seem to have the same draw of historic titles and characters

If you prefer RPG over action-adventure, I'd go with Fallout 4.
I do not enjoy role-playing games, so I will be getting Tomb Raider.

Just checkin with the homies cuz although 65 bucks or whatever isn't a mortgage payment or anything, I always feel dumb getting monetarily duped by hype, which is what America is about :lol
I'm just looking for some worthwhile interactive art

I honestly do not even know the diff between RPG and Tomb Raider besides the camera angles and how the characters look i.e. camera angles and whatnot :lol
Like I said, ROCsteady is a poser with console video games but I had fun with the recent games.
Last system I bought before this was original XBox

1 and 2 were made by a different company many years ago and was a computer-rpg series. lots of emphasis on the RPG and character building element. For example, if you made a character with a low intelligence stat, then the dialogue choices would reflect it.
that company went afloat and years later bethesda acquired the rights and turned it into a fps-rpg hybrid (fo3 has some of the dumbest plotlines of a rpg ever, while New Vegas- made by obsidian and published by bethesda- significantly improved on both the rpg and shooter aspects)
if it's your first in the series, then it's definitely worth checking out. But in the eyes of some of the more hardcore fans of the series, it's now basically a modern open world FPS reskinned to fit the old setting

That's whats up. Appreciate the info.
When I research some of this stuff for my next investment, all the hardcore gamers are so in tuned to the updates, changes, differences I'm just like :biggums: LOST.
Too much bitching and nit-picking so I was just looking for standard opinions from a fundamental level :lol

Agreed.
You can't compare Fallout 4 with The Walking Dead. They're wayyy different games.

Ok so you customize your own character traits before the game even starts to reflect differences and that affects the story? So everybody is basically using a diff character as a protagonist?
I do like the 'Choose Your Own Pathway' idea in games

well that's more of what the first games and New Vegas were.
from what i've seen of the new dialogue system, it seems very dumbed down sadly.
pic related shows the apparent difference, but I haven't played the game yet so I'm just going off what it seems

The story is irrelevant if you haven't played the ones before it. You learn the story.
As for your 'do you just reach the end and there's nothing left to do' comment...
Fallout 4 has 400+ hours of game play with 11,000 lines of dialogue. I really, really doubt you'll ever really finish it.

Ah man tell me about it. I have really strict rules on what I get after having wasted too much money on impulse buys. The Order, Destiny, Assassins creed, watch dogs. The worst was Battlefield 4. I bought the game and premium before I even played it because I loved the previous one. A grand total of

He is saying, if you haven't played the first few fallouts, than you can jump right in to fallout 4 since the stories from the first two games are irrelevant.
Meaning, you don't need to play them.

Ah man that sucks to regret purchases that quickly.
I used to hate when I would blind buy movies and they sucked but then again, money for a game is like three times as expensive.
Which Assassins Creed disappointed you?
I almost bought the Black Flag game the other day because the pirate stuff appealed to me more than the British gang stuff.
Even when I never played the new video games on 360, Assassins Creed, the very first one, always intrigued me.
After playing the new Batman though, they seem pretty similar, just in different worlds
Unity. The game was full of bugs which made it barely playable. Black flag was decent btw.
Why are you wording it so weird?

Let me try it this way....
"No. The story line of the first few fallouts is irrelevant if you haven't played them yet."
If you haven't played them yet
Them being the previous Fallouts
The story line of the first few fallouts is irrelevant
The story from the other Fallouts isn't important.
So, the story from the other Fallouts is irrelevant, if you haven't played them yet.

One thing to note with fallout 4 is a lot of the early reviews had bugs (some game breaking and not apparent until hours in). I've got tomb raider and fallout both on pre order (presents normally don't pre order) so I'll be playing tomb raider first until fallout is patched. I ****ing hate it when you have bugs where you can play for 20 hours before hitting a point where you cannot progress unless you start over again and that's what some reviewers have noted with a bug that gets you stuck in an elevator later in the game.
If i could only buy one i'd still buy fallout but having other games to play i'm going to wait until it's fixed.

But did you really need to say "if you haven't played them yet"?
Just say "the story from the other Fallouts are irrelevant". It just makes it confusing.

I would hope they can iron out the bugs by tomorrow cuz I was planning on downloading that joint at midnight lol.
Fallout was what I was leaning towards and it seems like my ISH fellas favor it as well.
One thing that seems weird is I read Tomb Raider is only on XBox?
Weird because I remember playing the series when I was like 11 and it seemed synonymous with Playstation

Bethesda games usually always have bugs/glitches at release, but most aren't game breaking. They're usually stupid funny bugs but nothing too damaging.
Just play it at midnight, man, if that's what you were planning to do. And even so, I doubt it'll be a completely different game tomorrow. Millions of others have it pre-loaded and shit, ready to go then. Just because there might be some bugs (which a lot of games have at release), doesn't mean you should hold off.
