I wouldn't say their games were too much the same. I only watched Kirilenko for a short amount of time (07-12), and I didn't really see him getting putback dunks too often, and on the flipside I don't see Porzingis playing as good of defense as Kirilenko did. Both are white Europeans though with fun last names; Kirilenko has Porzingis beat in the Nickname column (AK-47), but Porzingis has the cooler last name. Both guys are great though, great pickup by the Knicks
*also, a huge reason their games don't resemble would be the fact that they play different positions

They aren't alike at all. AK-47 was a defensive forward who could guard guys out on the perimeter. Porzingis is a long, athletic center/pf who has ball skills and a high motor.

Porzingis has Kirilenko hustle plays and Dirk offensive agile and shooting . He'll be great player .

Kirilenko is a midget compared to 8'7'' Porzingis.

The ONLY reason i can think of why people compare these two are because theyre tall, lanky, white dudes + they both have that rocky V villain look.

He's like a hybrid of AK47/Dirk. The only major flaw I see in Porzingis game is he badly needs to add 20-30 pounds. If he does and he maintains his athleticism, the kid could be really good. I don't think his floor is that low either.
