Godzingis hitting almost game winners and grabbing boards.
Karl Anthony Towns anchoring a defense and playing a great all around game.
Okafor getting buckets.
Drummond beasting and destroying teams.

Is this a resurgence of bigmen?

GODzingis is being handicapped by having a coach like fisher.

That generation was lucky when it came to injuries. This generation got fukt. Everyone from Yao to Oden to Embid; hell even Bynum. Then there's guys who haven't been the same cuz of injury like Dwight.

When did big men ever not exist?

From around 2006 (Shaq's fall from greatness...as well as Ben Wallace's decline) to 2015....the best true centers of that era were Dwight Howard and two guys who could never stay healthy in Yao Ming and Andrew Bynum. The Gasol brothers were pretty good but neither was ever a franchise player.

Pick any year from the 90's and I can name five centers better than any of those guys you just listed, besides maybe peak Dwight ...but even his peak was pretty short and he declined a little faster than i hoped starting in 2014

Hopefully the guys in the OP can change things.

How does that discredit this era of centers? You comparing them to the centers of the 90s doesn't make them any worse.

Everyone I named either were All-Stars or the best player on a playoff team.

It's actually not even close to that tier of big men.

Ewing is much better than all centers in today's game, bar peak Pau. And even that's debatable.

This thread and no mention of Whiteside? Instead bringing in a Porzingis?

That's some dumb shit.

Whiteside averaging a cool 15/11 on 65% with 4 blocks.
