Ray and Hearns were MASSIVE welters. Both guys were competing for and winning titles as high as Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight by the end of their careers. Naturally, they would have huge advantages against a guy who started out as a lightweight and had to fight at catchweights against super welters.

This isn't just a regular dude. Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the best boxers ever, certainly should be ranked higher than Floyd and is by most experts.
Man has skill and power that is better than Floyd's, I'd take him even without the size advantage.

So, Ray would win but not by knockout.

I'm not sure how Floyd's defensive tactics would work against a guy with zero fear of his counter punching, Leonard was a guy who stood in with some of the best hitters in his weight class of all time. It would take a round before he figured that out and really started pressing him.

Had Floyd fought in that era, I'm not so sure he would have even bothered to move up to 147. He may have hidden in the lightweight division like person hiding in the cellar from zombies, while dancing around the likes of Boom Boom Mancini and Arguello.
