I'm a huge kobe fan and gotta disagree. He did less in everything except points and played way more minutes. Also, that entire stretch is skewed by the 81. Had a lot of fairly average games (by Kobe standards)

That's an advantage for MJ - that's 6 more minutes of elite defense and production, while Curry must sit on the bench, not contributing..
Curry is WAY too fragile to play MJ minutes, especially in MJ's era - can you imagine Curry facing hand-checking and physical defense shown above?... He'd never last.
SUMMARY: MJ's per game contribution on offense was equal... and on defense was far superior - so MJ's overall per game contribution was far superior.

Yeah I screwed up my #'s on the spreadsheet, thanks for correcting me.
Dirk was more efficient, however, you have to remember that Kobe was a superior play-maker AND defender in 2008. He also scored 3 PPG higher on a very impressive FG% / TS% for a SG. He struggled at the free throw line and 3 point shooting those games, his 2PT% was off the chains.
I'd say it's a toss-up.
I remember Dirk shredding teams in 2011, and so was Kobe.
Beautiful to watch.

Oh for sure...but don't forget how the pick and roll and pick and pop with Dirk opens everything up for the whole team. he doesn't really pick up stats with that aspect of his game but it's honestly his more valuable asset to the team imo...
Kobe was amazing in that stretch, but it's hard to overcome a 9% TS gap on similar scoring...

Okay I'll try, he's just too damn consistent nothing really stands out.
Which year should I focus on, 2007, 2003, 1999?
I tried Gilbert, but couldn't really find anything too impressive. He had too many 4 for 25 games that would break a string of two-three great games.
