There were a few other teams who wanted him but the Cavs may have offered the most money and longest term. Could of been another case of a player knowing his contract is going to up soon and looking to get paid

I guess it's just a differnce in mentality. Rooting for the home team is just a given in Cleveland. The idea of just randomly picking some player and being his fan is just foreign to me. I suppose once Lebron retires they will all just throw a dart at a collage of NBA players to choose their next hero? In my opinion it's weird. I don't like any dudes enough to follow them and be a "fan" of theirs and feverishly root for them and only them.

I suppose you can have ups and downs following one guy but sticking with a team and that goes through those same ups and downs will make the eventual payoff much better. I guarantee that if the cavs win a championship in 2016 I will enjoy their first NBA title more then the stans enjoyed lebrons first title.

It's absurd is what it is. The same people who shit on my team and worse my city for 4 years hopped right back on that Cleveland bandwagon as soon as Lebron came back. As a real Cavs fan...

I was pissed when Lebron came back (Didn't want him back)

I was even more pissed when the Wiggins trade happened (Lebron just comes back and already making roster demands???)

That said, Lebron is still arguably the best player in the league, so it is what it is. I can't in good conscience complain that he's on our team at this point.

As for the Lebron stans...I think every great player both present and historically has fans like that. They follow or root for their fav. player and not the team. Personally I don't understand it but I don't see anything wrong with it either.
