Because he can't beat his man off the dribble and he isn't going to be looking for contact inside to get to the line which means the only shots the defense will give him are those contested 3s and apparently he thinks he's Steph Curry with the shot.

You can't simply be an effective shooter nor can you expect defenses to give you open looks if you're not a threat to score inside 10 ft of the basket...I'm sure if you pulled up his shot chart for the season 80% of the shots would be 10 ft & out.
