...you actually have to lead your team to wins for people to give a shit. Anyone can put up stats on a losing team.

I told people he'd be putting up a minimum of 23-24ppg this season.
After his back healed up, he has been great. Now we just need Rubio and Pek back, and this team is set for a push into the playoffs.

I get that. But the Wolves are 100x better this season than last and Wiggins has been clutch as hell.
No need to discount a SECOND year player because we aren't >.500 yet.

He doesn't handle the ball as much as other superstar wings.

If he can make a similar jump as a ballhandler as Durant did from rookie year to now, he's going to be a f*cking monster.
Rich man's Paul George is his ceiling imo. Something like 30/5/4 on 57-59% TS with lockdown defense..

Has his defense been good this year? I've only looked at offensive highlights.

Rich man's Paul George is his ceiling imo. Something like 30/5/4 on 57-59% TS with lockdown defense..That would be a mega jump. I won't say he can't do it but I think he probably won't get to the level of Durant's handle. Rich man's PG-13, if he can become a top 5 wing defender, is scary. Wolves should be scary in a few years.
Also, do you actually want Pek playing? Maybe just on the 2nd unit for short bursts, but his defense is so bad...

Fixed.
I want to see more of Wiggins with a good play making guard next to him (rubio).

LeBron needed his help straight away.
And Wiggins had good value to help collude.

Lot of good that will do him when we stack chips the next few years into LeBaldo's decline.

This is something he will need to hash out if he wants to check in at elite status (right now he is very good/excellent bordering on all star).
The interesting thing with Wiggins is that you can see him improve, and there are specific markers in his career where jumps are visible. For example the minute KG showed up he was going hard to the rim, getting way more dunks and and 1 finishes, over the summer he developed his handle to the point where he can break defenders down off the dribble, after a couple of games this season he established himself as the go to guy, no more taking a passenger seat to Kevin Martin or anyone else.
The kid is near elite level and he is still learning the game and still developing physically.
He is adding elements to his game in an almost building block manner.
What he might be in 3-4 years is absolutely frightening, stronger, more athletic, more polished and meaner.
The rebounds will come as the games get more important and he has more ownership, the assists will come as he builds rapport with KAT and others.
Right now the Wolves are still a very disjointed, poorly coached team that doesn't execute very well. They have had a few big road wins simply because of KAT and Wiggins' will to win.
This will be more constant, the team will be more built around those two and the coaching will get better and those not in line will be cut loose.
Its been a joy to watch the development thus far and it will only get better.

Aren't you a Lebron apologist? So he gets a pass for last year's finals?

...sigh, I don't know how many times I have to say I'm not a Lebron fan, but I guess I have to say it again? Not everyone who thinks Kobrick Cryant is overrated is a lebron stan, you moron. Some people just know basketball and know how overrated he's been in his entire career. I could give two ****s about Lebron, either way. If being a Lebron apologist is recognizing he's clearly a top 10 player of all time...then yeah i'm an lebron apologist and someone who actually knows about basketball...I know, very ****ing odd on ish, right?

OKC was like 1-7 when they first got Durant and Westbrook.

OKC is the exception not the norm , wolves have nothing in common with that franchise. This will be 12 straight years no playoffs, young teams take years to develop the chemistry it takes to compete. Plus you know they play in the west where making all star games and the playoffs is easier said then done.just facts. The wolves are hands down the worst franchise in the NBA and have been for a long time.

Not sure where the myth that he is a good defender comes from the stats don't back it up and I've never seen him shut anyone down on that end for more than one play. His offense for his age and lack of dribbling ability is impressive tho.

He's not a good defender yet, but his length+quickness give him massive potential in that area, and most folks drastically improve there anyways as they get older.
Wiggins is going to be a stud. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the dude is built for basketball. You couldn't come up with a better basketball body in a laboratory. Ignoring game, I'll take 19 year old Wiggin's body+athleticism right up there with Shaq and LeBron.
The guy also has skills. His J looks nice, and he has a nice RESTRAINED iso game. He doesn't over-dribble (which is good because his handle is weak), but he has the scoring instinct to score without holding the ball for a long time. He reminds me of young Kobe in this aspect. This is something that not a lot of people gain over the course of their career. Some people do develop this aspect of the mental game, but with most great scorers you can see it from day 1.
Obviously he's a dunking machine also.

Which would be a good thing. Getting more talent from the draft would be better for their future.
They will eventually make the playoffs again. Pure process of developing their talent now.

I agree with this because no one wants to sign there, but the wolves have a long history of not putting talent around their stars. We shall see.

that wouldn't be a bad thing.
this team won't win a lot of games with Andre Miller and Zach Lavine getting minutes at the point.
better to take it on the chin another year, go 30-52, get in the lottery one more time, cut bait with the dead weight and trade for another impactful rotation guy.
I hope they keep:
Wiggins
Towns
Rubio
Muhammed
Bjelica
Dieng
in that order, the rest of the team is disposable.

His best ball came when he played alongside Kevin Love and I don't think that's a coincidence.
