But I could still imagine Cousins being able to ball with them all, I'd be more worried about D-rob and Shaq being more physical with him then I would with Ewing and Hakeem. And Zo was what most people refer to on this board as "empty stats"

How is Demarcus a mediocre defender? Explain

DeMarcus doesn't have the lateral quickness to be a great help defender. That plus his low to the ground game doesn't provide rim protection. DeMarcus loses focus on many possessions throughout the game. DeMarcus is a decent man defender but that is it.

Your team's defense begins at the starting Center. Barring extreme circumstance there is not one player that is more important to your team's defense.

If DeMarcus Cousins was a very good defender he would of been able to lead something better than the 20th ranked defense in his 5 years in the league. Results matter.

Compared to who ? cousins became a really productive player his second season(18/11). The Kings have won between 20 and 28 games 4 years in a row. Zo not only took his team to the playoffs he put up 26/10 in the first round to upset the Celtics. He had 33 and 6 blocks in the elimination game including the series winning buzzer beater:

He certainly proved more on the winning end of things than Cousins. All you can say to knock him is that he took teams to great records and flamed out. You cant say Cousins did anything of any kind except produce. That seems closer to what we tend to call empty stats.

Besides the only stat he ever really had stand out was his shot blocking and its not like we can say he didnt have a legit defensive impact. He was back to back DPOY and his team held opponents to like 40% shooting and 85 points a game. He helped lead that defense first physical approach and they won a lot of games. He was MVP runner up.

They didnt do what they should have but compared to Cousins that isnt really anything to point to.

Much bigger empty stats argument on one end here.

It is really close, but I don't think it's a travel because his last dribble looked delayed because he got bumped... He stays on his pivot foot

I don't think anyone is low balling his value as a player, prob just thinking they'd only trade him if there were big problems and he had to go. In that case the value in a trade wouldn't match up w his value as a player.
