Do you believe that are cultures in the world are equal due to relativism or do you believe that some cultures are better than others?

Honestly, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Part of the reason the Middle East is such a mess now is because many Americans, including decision makers, are convinced that the whole World is in awe of our culture and wants to live just like us. So we tried to force our way of life (ie, democracy) down the throats of people who had been living in a different cultural landscape and who had no interest whatsoever in living as we do.

Even some of the extremists who either move to or lived their whole lives in a 'Western' culture try to destroy it and prefer living under Sharia or other forms of governance/faith/etc.

All religious cultures are the worst.

Equal means the same. So all cultures are not equal, all races aren't equal, all individuals aren't equal.

Whether A is superior to B or vice versa is a subjective matter of opinion. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having an opinion that they are disproportionate in merit. We don't claim that Russell and Wilt are equal. Some people say one, some people say the other, and everyone argues about it. Everyone can have their opinion on it.

There's nothing wrong with feeling that way about ANY comparison, but people who want to carve out a role for themselves as the righteous social hero love to get their moment to drop down to their knees in the rain, with the wind blowing their unbutton shirt back behind them, look to the sky and shout "WE ARE ALL. ONEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" Confused liberal teens who are struggling to find their place in society all crave this moment of being seen and admired for their espousing of this feel-good platitude.

The collectivist witch hunt to root out bigots and racists is nothing more than a religion without a deity. People looking to stake out a claim to superior morals and publicly persecuting anyone who doesn't agree with their dogma. Most of the people bleeting it don't come up with the ideas and can't articulate them logically, but they feel the need to be part of the collective, so they watch the dialy show or john olive oil, memorize the soundbytes and away they go.

Just look at this board. It's filled with them.

I visited a couple developing countries and their close knit communities were something I liked a lot.

Boom.

This is a perfect point to lead into why people care about Paris being attacked, and not other places it does...

When the Arab world starts caring about saving lives, maybe we might just give a damn.

Where are the refugees in Saudi Arabia? Iran?

Saudi Arabia's government never signed the refugee act because they don't give a shit, Iran has had millions of Afghan and Iraqi refugees since Russians invaded Afghanistan and Iraqis since the Gulf war.

And sadly we know which one dominates the ideology in the Arab world.

Obviously not: this is as close to being a self-evident truth as something can be.

Trying living there for a while and get back to us. There's a reason those countries are fleeing to the US and even Mexico to live. :oldlol:

Cultures that have people fleeing to live in regions with more successful and safe cultures are obviously inferior. But the people from those cultures tend to be so stupid, they strive to change their new home to be more like the culture they fled from.

This goes against the process of adaption as described by Darwin. Which is why the human species is doomed unless something drastically changes. Our species is reversing all our natural evolutionary improvements.

What are you babbling about. People are running away from gang violence.
The people are hard working and inclusive.

Which proves their stupidity even more. They won't try and change things at home, instead they move to safe regions, and seek to change things there. :hammerhead:

So you want ppl to risk dying to change, instead of getting the hell out of there? :oldlol: Remember that not everyone was born with trust fund money to fight off terrorists living in their own neighborhood.

If they are set on changing things around them, yes they should do it at home regardless of consequences. Nothing gets done without risk and willpower. If they don't have the collective fortitude to manage that, they certainly shouldn't bring with them any of garbage they left behind.

But they don't. Like I said...stupid people. That's why crime tends to be higher in these immigrant areas and conflicts take place with the native culture that seemed so desirable to them. It's the equivalent of moving out of a filthy area but bringing your garbage with you.

You are a better person than most. Most others just make thread after thread on a basketball website complaining about all the atrocities of the world as they sip their lattes. Keep up the good work bro

are all cockz equal? theres your answer.

Of course not.

You'd have to specify the criteria (equality of what?) to get a more interesting discussion though. My response would probably be no for most of them, but what counts is the argument behind it.
