Kobe made a very successful career out of building skill set identical to jordans. Why dont more players follow suit?? Ive noticed wiggins is looking kind of jordan/kobeish.

That skill set has a total of 11 rings.

Why don't more investors replicate Buffett's investing skills?

Why don't more actors replicate Tom Cruise's acting skills?

Why don't more player replicate Messi's play style?

Why don't more engineers replicate Bill Gates' skills?

You need to actually have the talent to get to an MJ level. MJ's talent was outstanding. Even as an athlete his strengths were all basketball and his weaknesses weren't relevant to the sport.

On top of that, it takes a rare combination of mental fortitude, ambition, forethought, external pressures, and probably psychological scars, to be able to continue improving your game when the game already comes so easy to you.

MJ's talent level isn't as rare as it is to find a guy with that talent also push themselves that damn hard.

Why don't more player replicate Messi's play style?

Curry's going for it

Firstly there are plenty engineers that could wipe the floor with gates. Hes more of an entrepreneur/businessman

Heaps of people try to replicate buffets investing skills.

Im not even gonna mention soccer cause its gay.

Replicating jordans skills has been PROVEN effective. The strong mentality that kobe and jordan share is very rare and cant be taught but the skills can.

Everyone does MJ's patented lean-in dunk and fadeaway

MJ popularized these things - every high school kid in the world tried to do the MJ lean-in - of course, some 13 year old will come on here and tell me they don't remember that

You need these physical tools

first step
explosiveness
6'3 or bigger
dynamic leaper who can explode equally well off one or two feet
no blocky and bulky bodytype. you'll lack the natural fluidity and coordination of someone like Kobe or MJ.

Again, that's from Jordan - remember the 1998 Finals last shot?

I did say kobe has jordans moves. We dont need reminding of jordans greatness. We are all aware.

Because he was 1-9 without Pippen

His style of play doesn't win games, so younger guys today replicate LeBron and Durant. More and more big men are shooting 3's trying to be like Durant, and more and more bigger guards and forwards are more interested in facilitating and being all-around like LeBron.

The art of chucking is slowly going away now that kobe is on his last leg. Jordans style of play is gonna stay stuck in the 90's where it belongs, he wouldn't hang in today's league.
