Melo most disrespected player by refs?

He gets fouled a lot but refs don't give him the whistle because he has a rep for creating the contact himself on stationary defenders with borderline offensive fouls. He's been getting clobbered in this game though.

I hate the way the NBA refs operate, they don't judge each situation on it's merits but instead give some players the benefit of the doubt based on past experience. Or they focus on points of emphasis. Or they blatantly give make up fouls for a bad decision earlier in the game.

Dwight had the same a bit, he'd get fouled a lot on some boards but he threw his elbows a lot at times too so they'd let them slide even when he wasn't throwing the elbow.

When he drives he doesn't initiate contact any more than other star players - I feel like his body type works against him in that situation though, he's so strong that his bullrushes to the cup appear to force defenders back. It's just upsetting seeing some of the consistent ticky tack contact calls that other guys get, and seeing him have to go up 2-3 times underneath the basket and coming up with nothing.

When he goes for a face up drive or even a face up jump shot he smashes in to the stationary defender a lot. I'm not saying he always makes the contact but he has a rep for it so in situations where he is legit fouled refs don't call it.

As we heard in the ref betting documentary the refs hold grudges for certain players. Melo punching a player in the face probably got him the grudges from refs and the time he decided to play dead on the court

Melo doesn't know how to draw the defender up in the air and then jump into him. Defenders know exactly how to cover Melo.
