Nigguh just along for the ride. If Curry's the bus driver, this dude's the bicycle in the front.
All he's done is cost GSW FT's.

I had hoped the Knicks would hAve him coaching over fisher. I thought phils plan was to give fisher his own job and Walton fishers job. (Phil obviously keeps huge salary)

He does have a great basketball mind. He was able to make the roster of an NBA title winning team despite being a bad shooter and having low athleticism.
Congrats Luke:cheers:

Im tge biggest kobe stan here
Luke walton was underrated as hell
Takeover in g2 of the finsls triple dub rookie year
Literally mark madsen talent and drive and hustle with lamar odom basketball skills lol
He was never truly ever a problem even on D and i remember even one stretch in 06 07 where he finally came back off injury against the timberwolves i think and kobe drops 50 and they ask why he looks so fresh and he said playing with luke makes the game easier for him because of lukes playmaking and eye for kobes easy spots
Even around 06 07 i think i remember he improved his corner 3 pt shooting tremendously and became a solid threat from that area of the triangle at least
Anyway he was a very good role player with a champ IQ and a key glue guy
Wish the lakers or the kings got him

he was good for a stretch when he was healthy and NBA experimented with this new type of basketball
but he always had high basketball and ability to see the court.

Luke's 0-0 as a Head Coach. He still has the title as assistant coach. The 14 wins so far this season are still credited to Kerr

Luke "steve kerr" walton
Hope this proves to you all that success is mostly on the players - not the coach - unless GSW is lucking into TWO "GOAT" coaches.

Or maybe a coach's philosophy + system + getting player's to buy in > regular season "adjustments"

I'm not going to conclude that it's plausible in this case this early, but it's more than possible to get away with coaching oversights during the regular season with overwhelming talent; it's the playoffs where Xs and Os are magnified during the opponent-concentrated seven-game series. How many times have we seen Mike D'Antoni-, Byron Scott-, and Mike Brown-coaches teams clinch top-2 seeding in the regular season only to flounder in the playoffs whenever they were matched up against well-coached opponents?
Plus, as respectable of a coach Like Walton has become in his own right, his own coaching isn't inseparable from Kerr's ability; Kerr is still attendant at practices and half-time intermissions in games, he is still playing an advisory role to coach by proxy of Walton, and Walton has been inherent a wealth of coaching know-how from him.

Luke Walton has always been a high b-ball IQ guy. Phil Jackson had a man crush on the guy, I still remember during the 08-09 season the Lakers had Walton as their starting SF, then Luke had a convo with Phil Jackson saying it would be best for the team if Ariza started ahead of him.:oldlol:
