I was on my way to work, zipping along at 75 mph when the car in front of me hits something with his back left tire.
It's a huge black toolbox the size of a freaking television set. It was sitting on the yellow line, but when he clipped it, it spun right into the middle of my lane.
I had a split second to swerve right or left, and I didn't think I could miss it on the left, so I went right, and there was a semi beside me. I came so close to him I clipped either his fender or his gas tank.
Another inch and I'd have gone under the truck and wouldn't be sitting here right now. You can see where my right front tire actually touched the truck.
I'm still shaking.

Where I live wherever someone died from a car accident you can often see on the side of the road a small memorial/plaque. That could have been you. Be grateful. Be more careful. Glad you're still with us on this side.
That's everyday living in LA...

Yikes.
In retrospect, do you think it would have been safer to hit the toolbox?

Only good thing about this is you get to live to see another post from the Shademeister. Be grateful.

Did your get out and exchange information with the trucker? If he's a company driver, it will likely be reported to the police. If he got your plates, you might even be charged with hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, etc
I was working as a concrete batcher. Loading the trucks up with materials to make concrete using the computers, etc. But, sometimes the job requires me to run outside in the yard to the truck drivers and make sure the loads aren't fcked up when the drivers add water to the load, etc. Sometimes I'd need to add chemicals to the load manually.
The managers son was riding the big ass truck that picks sand up. It's huge. The wheels are giant. Me being the idiot I was I'm running fast into the yard with my head down unaware of my surroundings. He's backing up fast asf without looking at his mirror if it's clear.
He came about two or three ft away from crushing me. That was life changing. I was shook for weeks. He laughed like an asshole.

Must have been something she said
