He absolutely deserved to die. He reached for a cop's gun, assaulted him, then came back for seconds. If he wasn't afraid of using force against a cop, store owner, or regular people on the street, at 18, it was just a matter of time before he seriously hurt or killed an innocent person. So yes, the world is a better place with him dead.
