Byron and Jim have both said multiple times now that they think this is kobe's last year. It seems like they don't want him back and why would they?

Kobes got to let it go. The injuries have crippled him as a basketball player. Just 5 years ago he was the finals MVP, he has to realize his decline is because of serious injuries

>Durant signs with LAL next year
>Kobe returns
>LAL makes the Finals
>Kobe takes a HGH dose and wins FMVP then retires
>Kenneth wakes up from his wet dream

Kobe doesn't look like he can finish off this season physically intact.
I think this is his last year.

If this was his last season he should've just announced it beforehand so every team could honor him like they did for Jeter. This I will/I won't wishywashy thing is preventing him from having the GOAT NBA farewell tour.

Euroleague already posted the other day that he has a verbal agreement to go play in the euroleague as a 12th man for 10 minutes a night.

We all know he's never been wrong either, remember the 10 different NBA teams V-span signed with every off season?

As bad as kobe is hes still one of the top 3 names in the nba

Give him 25 mill and he would make the lakers 10 fold

True but that "name value" starts to really decline if a player is consistently bad.

Didn't Jordan himself even not get voted into the ASG during one of his Wiz years?

If Kobe was throwing down a semi-vintage performance every few games or so that might help keep it alive but he hasn't been able to even do that yet.

Most nba fans are clueless though.. half the people who go to games are rich idiots that still think kobe averages 30ppg

Please retire baldbe. As hilarious as it is watching him try to be a productive basketball player, the league needs the Lakers to become relevant again. No top free agent is going to sign there until the cancer is gone.

I have no idea what changes he wants. It's not like great players are lining up to play alongside his grandpa legs and that bust-ass rook.

Kobe should go to a team like Chicago or Memphis and push them over the edge.

I've been looking for that quote, but I can't find it. Something about if averaging 17 ppg, it's time to hang it up because he doesn't want to be an average player.

Does anybody have a link to his quote? I think it was 2 or 3 years ago.

Good news for the Lakers. Kobe sucks this season. And No Kobe means more playing time for the younger players.

If Kobe actually does come back next season that magic will be defunct. No star wants to come and deal with a guy whose ego is 100 times bigger than his game, now. Would you want to join the lakers if you were a star with this version of Kobe around? A guy who can't even play anymore, but would think he's still the leader of the team?

Naero

He just wants to retire winningly, which is what has lengthened his injury-prone years of his career to begin with. His teams have never realized the vindication he starved for after failing to capture his sixth ring in the would-be three-peat of 2011; had that happened or had he landed his sixth ring on another year since, I'm sure he would have retired by now.

Either way, he needs to retire now. The more he plays in this state, the more the newer fans' memories are clouded by his frankly embarrassing level of play at this stage.

Moreover, regardless of changes happen roster-wise, it's not going to eventuate into a championship unless Byron Scott's termination coalesces with that. He's easily one of the bottom-five coaches in the league, and no affordable team will compensate for his deficiencies once they encounter one of the many stacked and well-coached Western Conference powerhouses in the playoffs.

the lakers org right now just seems toxic top to bottom. the infighting in upper management, byron scott, kobe, huge bust bound d-russell. ugh. that team is gonna have problems for the next couple years at least.
