Wiggins and Towns will both be top 10 players at the same time in their primes. Wolves going to consistently be one of the elite teams:eek: for a while.:D

Kawhi Leonard with far superior athleticism.
Don't think either of them will ever be truly elite offensively but should be getting 20+ ppg for many years.

He'll be up to 23-24ppg by seasons end.

Where the heck does this myth still come from? Ever since Wiggins came to the NBA he has been fine in that department. Seems people just parrot what they saw and heard about him when he was at Kansas

I think it's partly the fact he doesn't demand of handle the ball as much as other stars. Personally I think putting up 20+ ppg in the flow of the offence without needing to iso all the time is even better than a guy who needs the ball all the time to be effective.

I'm not sure what game you're watching if you don't think Wiggins will ultimately be elite offensively.
He's already a 21+ ppg scorer AND he got off to a slow start.

He's just not that good in the leadership department. Right now, rookie Towns shows more passion and fight.

He's no doubt going to be a top 5 player in the NBA someday. Not a doubt in my mind.

I am a Canadian and rooting for Wiggins to succeed more than anyone here but lets calm down a bit. He is a decent to above above average nba scorer, which is very good for a 20 year old coming off his rookie season, but he needs to continue working on his all around game. Lets hope he stays injury free and continues rounding out his game and fulfilling that ridiculous top-end potential.

Might have been a top 5 dunk of the decade if that had gone down.

He could very easily prove me wrong but IMO there is a pretty high bar to reach elite status, 30 ppg or near it is the gold standard. Wiggins game is a bit mechanical and his mediocre handle is worrisome for a wing player.

Kevin Durant is the only player to average 30+ ppg in the last 6 years.

nah..
but btw, his ppg has been massive after a 'slow' start... he's been consistently 25+

He's not even going to be close to an elite offensive player, you are just plain wrong. Anyone can see that. Right now he's a volume scorer...takes a lot of shots to get his points, nothing special about averaging 21.5ppg on 18 shots.

Take note that he said his back felt better starting on 11/9...
11/9 - 33 points on 22 shots
11/12 - 19 points on 17 shots
11//13 - 26 points on 19 shots
11/15 - 21 points on 14 shots
11/17 - 24 points on 21 shots
11/18 - 28 points on 17 shots
This is only his 2nd year and he's 20 years old, but you must be trolling. I know you've seen him play before and it's so obvious he's way ahead of the curve offensively.

Players reach their ceilings quicker than others (not saying he's at his ceiling)...I just don't feel he'll be an elite offensive player. If that's trolling than I guess I'm trolling, but I haven't seen anything that says to me he will ever be elite. shrug

Started the season with a hurt back or something too.
Since then he's been hitting 26/3/3 on 49/44/72. If he keeps this up his season averages will crawl up to 24 on 46/38/75 or something.
He's really gotta work on this extra stats though. The guy's grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 1 assist a game. I get that he plays within a system, but 3/1 is really really low if he's ever going to make a superstar transition.
As for his game though, his midrange jumper is highly improved. He's catching and shooting a lot more this year and it's working well for him. His finishing weakness though is still there a bit from last year. He's finishing under the rim in the mid 50s, which is a bit low for a player of his level. On the other hand, he gets to the FT line quite a bit which makes up for it for now.
Another thing that would be great is tightening his ball handling. His spin move is excellent so far, but if he had a bit more control he could control the ball running up the court more often, and create for himself and his teammates in the full court.
Exciting watching his development though. Looking forward to watching his improvement.

I feel he will be A Melo type player. Great scorer with solid efficiency but not in the Lebron or Durant level of impact.

He will be a great 2nd option for KAT over the next decade,
And I mean 2nd option as in Westbrook to Durant type of second option,
Perhaps will lead them in scoring for many years but KAT will be the "leader" and better / more impactful player
T'Wolves going to be scary especially if one of Lavine / Shabaz / Dieng develop above expectations into a true 3rd all-star type level player...

He's been improving, after a slow start he is dominating lately. I don't think he will be the next perimeter big thing such as Kobe, Lebron and KD but I might be wrong. In order to do that he needs to improve his playmaking skills and handling or he's celling will be in the Kawhi/Paul Geroge level.

Imagine if the Cavs kept Wiggins?
Irving / Mo
Wiggins / Shumpert / JR
LeBron / Wiggins / JR
Thompson / LeBron
Mozgov / Varejao

It's too bad he's in the west, he won't be in the playoffs for a few years nor will his team make any noise during the playoffs. Once he has a chance, he should come to the east :)

After watching the Pistons play those guys yesterday - the future is bright. Wiggins just needs to grows some suga lumps and be more aggressive - he is so damn passive, lets the game come to him rather than takes it to the game. In a year or two he is going to get to that stage where he is near unarguable, I just hope by then his demeanor is more alpha than beta..
KAT + Wiggy could both be top 7 players in the league in two or three years

Wiggins' all round game seems lacking tho. Atleast relative to the absurd expectation some people have from him. People compare him to TMac but TMac could pass and had go-to moves vs tough defenses down pat fairly early on. Maybe Wiggins will develop some more skillful scoring moves for when defenses tighten up but I don't see the passing every developing. Sometimes I fear he will just be a slightly better Derozan. I hope he can reach the next level tho. We need some damn 2 guards in this league
