Not sure how that is an accomplishment considering Davis has averaged about 65 games a year for his career. And will not play more than 70 games this year.

Exactly. I think Tim Duncan is overrated...he was never close to as good as David Robinson prime to prime, peak to peak...but that is just absurd to hate him now.

Duncan is a system player whose success can be attributed to the franchise he plays for
He was a role player in some of the championship runs

Duncan's missteps? The fact it took 20 years for him to go reboundless playing less than 20mins in the game sounds like a positive to me.

How does Kobe have more mileage? Duncan has played more NBA games and playoff games than Kobe while also played 4 year college basketball.
Kobe's longevity is just like his scoring ability - Very overrated.

Because he knows how to lead the team without being on the floor at all times and not chuck up shots at his point in his career, unlike some players.

nice to see how insecure Duncan fans can be at the challenge of anything, I couldn't care less about the "some players" you're referring to. And glad to know we are propping up players for being good while on the bench. Must be tough playing with the DPOY/FMVP who averages 21/8 alongside LMA and being the 2nd best PF on the team..
Anywayz there is no point in using "per 40mpg" like that poster was when the player you're referencing hasn't played 40mpg in 14 years.
Mr. Jabbar

2nd best PF to Aldridge? Duncan is averaging 11/9/3/2 on .595 TS% and playing very good defense, while Aldridge is averaging 15/9/2 on .495 TS%.
Duncan is 3rd in team PER, 2nd in Win Shares, 3rd in WS/48 and 3rd in Box +/-. How many other 40 year old can say they were one of the two or three best players on a contender?
Kobe isn't even one of the two or three best players at 36 on a tanking team. :oldlol:

Well that's pretty irrelevant considering no one has played that many regular season minutes in like 5 years, when Monta Ellis did it. Guys entering the league post 2010 will probably never play 40mpg in the regular season a single time in their entire careers.

Depends on if you count the playoffs in that analysis. Regular season Robinson is the most dominate center since wilt, shaq included.

Duncan certainly COULD have played more minutes most of those years. It just wasn't needed and now it is paying off with him still being the in league and playing well years later than most people thought he would be. Duncan was willing to listen to pop when he was told he wanted to save his minutes. That is something a LOT of players struggle with and many would have fought it.
Duncan being coachable and willing to listen to others is a big part of the culture he's created for the spurs and why they've been so successful.
