In terms of their level of play that year?

Guys like Tmac and Yao and I think Iverson have been voted in before when they hadn't actually played in the regular season, but they were out with injury - when healthy they were at a much higher level than current Kobe.

Kobe is basically the worst starter in the league this year.

Has there ever been anyone voted as an all-star while playing at such an incomprehensibly low level??

Joe Johnson was pretty bad

Kobe's looking really good recently.

Beyond the stats, he's still a top 5 player.

This next all-star game selection will be well deserved.

Even when Kobe gets voted in, Roy Hibbert is still the worst all star ever.

You've seen his youtube videos, right? His parents obviously fumbled the ball more than a few times when he was a baby.

Wise men, native American Shamans and Shamans from all cultures would call him a Maurader. There is wisdom in insanity. Stalker is the wisest of us all no need to insult his insight.:biggums:

Kobe in 16 is only rivaled by Kobe in 98 getting voted in purely off hype. Kobe started two games that year, one for the Lakers, the other was the All Star Game.

Yao in 2011 and James Donaldson (:lol ) in 1988 would have strong arguments also

When someone shows me that they can put up 81 points a game in this modern era rules changed game, then I'll worry about who's the worst player in an all-star game....

Which would be the understatement of the century

Kobe doesn't deserve a spot on an NBA roster, let alone an all-star nomination

yet these are the types of "achievements" you love praising kobe for. Isn't it ironic? :oldlol:

The **** does a game from 10 years ago have to do with anything? Kobe was winning MVP's/Finals MVP's 7 seasons ago, doesn't mean he wouldn't have a strong argument for worst player to make an all-star game, and would be a lock for worst all-star starter, which I'm sure he'll get

Here are the rosters from the first all star game, in 1951. Do you really think that Kobe is worse than all of these guys?

Ed Macauley (Boston Celtics)
Joe Fulks (Philadelphia Warriors)
Paul Arizin (Philadelphia Warriors)
Dolph Schayes (Syracuse Nationals)
Vince Boryla (New York Knicks)
Bob Cousy (Boston Celtics)
Red Rocha (Baltimore Bullets)
Dick McGuire (New York Knicks)
Andy Phillip (Philadelphia Warriors)
Harry Gallatin (New York Knicks)
Western Conference
Alex Groza (Indianapolis Olympians)
Frankie Brian (Tri-City Blackhawks)
Bob Davies (Rochester Royals)
George Mikan (Minneapolis Lakers)
Vern Mikkelsen (Minneapolis Lakers)
Fred Schaus (Ft. Wayne Pistons)
Dike Eddleman (Tri-City Blackhawks)
Ralph Beard (Indianapolis Olympians)
Jim Pollard (Minneapolis Lakers)
Larry Foust (Ft. Wayne Pistons)

Andy Phillip, for example, averaged a blistering 11.3 points per game on 40% shooting.

Is that really much better than 16 PPG on 34% shooting?

If Kobe gets selected to the All-Star game it will show the unmatched level of respect he has earned from his peers.
