IS THAT A LEFT AND RIGHT HOOK!?

That's ****ing all I need to see. Era of Porzingis is upon us. I knew one day a legit 7 foot big would take advantage of an ambidextrous hook. NOBODY is gonna be able to guard that this guy is set for the rest of his career.

There's been guys that could hit both. I think Yao and Pau could. Not sky hooks tho.

I really don't think Dirk's a good comparison. Dirk is basically a stronger but slower Durant. Therefore he posts a bit more but otherwise they want to do the same thing, which is shoot in your face.

Porzingis is more like a smaller and faster Yao or Ralph Sampson with a jumpshot. But those are still not the great comparisons but it's the closest I can think of.

He has a turning left hook, Kareem running hook, Dirk 3pt shot, Bill Russell block n' catch ... are we witnessing the career start of a potential top 15 GOAT?

He's like a 7'3" Andre Kirilenko with a nice jumpshot and the ability to hit a 3.

Probability of that happening is like 1 in 100. But the fact that it CAN happen is crazy.

It's crazy how fluid he is for being 7 foot 3.

Per 100 possessions, Knicks are the 4th best defense in the league when he's on the floor. When he's off, their DRTG is 23rd

It's obviously early, but looking purely at potential his could turn out to be one of the great bigmen draft in the past 25 years - something the league sorely needed.

Off the top of my head I can think of 1992 (Shaq, Zo, Laettner) as a great bigman draft, and maybe 1995 (KG, Sheed, McDyess)...

Among recent ones, 2002 (Yao and Amare), 2004 (Dwight and Big Al), 2007 (Gasol, Noah, Horford), 2012?

But I can't remember a draft class where it looked so easy for 3 different rookie bigmen (Towns, Okafor and KP) to put up 20 and 10 games, despite all being 19-20.

There's also a pleasing mix of old and new school with those guys... Okafor's traditional low post game, KP's freakish remind you of earlier eras, while Towns and KP's shooting ability and pick and roll games are very new school.

He has to stay lean forget about building up too much muscle, Kevin Durant doesn't need muscle with his height. That would only slow him down, and potentially get himself injured. Many basketball players don't need big muscles to be effective. Like Iverson, on the other hand Penny Hardaway tried to get stronger too soon and got hurt. There's a history of big men that put on too much weight and afterwards got injured.
