How is that leadership resonating now, Byron Scott?

He's philosophized more about "earning respect" (playing hard, earning more minutes and clout, and so on) than an efficient game plan (Xs and Os). One of the worst coaches in the league

Have to disagree. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding them, one thing is true in every sport: Losing coaches get fired. He's lining up high draft picks that some other coach will develop. There are only two possibilities:

1. He genuinely thinks Bryant's chucking is their best hope for winning.

2. He doesn't have the job security to stand up to Bryant and is just doing/saying what he's told to.

I'd bet on #2 myself.

I was thinking the same thing. He was probably told to just let Kobe do his thing. LOL

Kobe is the fukkin Mamba.
I wanna see this dude taking 50 shots a game while flipping off his teammates.

This isn't how I wanna see him go out.
Limping and acting submissive in interviews while scoring 15ppg on 16 shots.
GET THAT FIRE BACK KOBE.

It's been that way for Mike Brown, Mike D'Antoni and now Scott.

There's a reason why Phil said that Kobe's un-coachable

Said this before the season...this team is shit and no mater what happens they will be horrible. Also said Kobe would flame out like this because that is who he is...it's the exact same mentality that won brought this lakers franchise 5 rings and countless memories. So don't get mad at Kobe for being the same guy he always was...if he was any different the Lakers wouldn't have those 5 rings and 7 finals appearances.

I honestly don't care because I remember all the good seasons the lakers had with Kobe. I also don't care because this team is shit regardless...people slurping on Jordan damn Clarkson...his upside is a really good sixth man. Russell's upside is basically a top 10 player at his position, not in the league but at his position.

These guys are bums...if anything we should be mad at Jim Buss being absolute shit.

Think about how retarded Timmy, KG, Dirk has earned the right to play in Scotts eyes.

If you can't put Kobe in his place you should have the selfrespect to resign.

Frankly Kobe is the last person I would suspect would want to go out like this. Allen Iverson 5 years ago couldn't adapt his mentality when his skills deteriorated, and would up blackballed out of the league. Kobe at this point is at best a number 3 guy on a decent team, or super sub status. The limits of his body at this point don't allow for anything else. If he can't accept that, then he needs to retire. Because this, right now, is a horrible ending to a top 10 career.

It's a fitting ending...maybe the only way it could end after the injury. If you didn't see this coming you weren't watching. His body is done, he should retire. Obviously he won't bc that is who he is....a stubborn SOB who has never listened to anyone regarding his limitations. It's the exact reason why he was such a great player.

I don't really blame Scott for this to be honest. The Lakers have made the franchise all about Kobe. You can't defy Kobe on this team. It's part of the reason Phil left.

He never deserved any respect to begin with.

But anyway, we now cannot say Kobe is not coachable. Byron basically suggested Kobe to continue taking dumb shots and he followed just that.
