"I spent four years just being injured. Injury after injury after injury...That just takes a toll on you. You're playing hurt, you can't get where you need to go, you can't get by people, you start missing shots, you start questioning everything. My days of scoring 20 and 10 are over. I know that," Williams said.

yeah ... he can tell him how not to be 37 anymore or play in a 20th season without an achilles tendon on the worst team in nba history

Dude always seemed to be kinda out of shape.
And age has caught up with his poor conditioning, that's all.

Well do you think he is gonna go out and say "yeah once I got paid I stopped trying so hard" ??? Of course not. He's right he's not a 20-10 player anymore. Injuries play a role but so does his attitude and age as well as mentality.

This mentality gives him a leg up on Kobe currently.

He has always been better than Kobe.
And CP3.

That's good news for Dallas fans to hear him admit that.

A former star who realizes that he is now a very good role player at best can be a very good role player.

A former star of the same ability who thinks he is still a star will end up hurting his team (iverson in detroit and current kobe) and becomes a terrible player.

And he has been playing solid in that role. In like 31 minutes he has averaged 14 points and around 5 assists.

I'm proud of him. I've always rooted for him ever since his days in Utah and it's been kind of sad to see his decline the last couple of years. Great sign of humility though, an attribute a lot of players don't have. I bet though he'll have a vintage month sometime this season where he just balls out of his mind

I hated DW when he played in Illinois.
But I loved the guy when he played for Sloan and his running mate Boozer.

I would take him in a heart beat over CP3 at that time.
Awesome slasher, distributor , rebounder , and seeing the floor and popping that top of the key jumper made him a pure threat in the league.

I digress to say 99m dollars and going to the Nets was one way to shoot yourself in the foot. Unfortunately his leg foot issues (ankle) never allowed him to recover. I have to wonder if the team paying him so much demanded that he play hurt :confusedshrug:

Simply said :SAD
