I am a fan of the man, but damn he's looking pathetic out there. Just accept it and call it quits already.

I literally can't think of a single player in all of sports, and I'm being dead serious.

With Kobe living rent free in your head, I see why.
his farewell season is worse than pathetic.

Most shots missed, by far. Enough bricks build a Great Wall. Sounds like a fking legend to me.

Robert Parish
Patrick Ewing
Moses Malone
Gary Payton
Just a few off the top of my head who didn't exactly kill it down the stretch.

They did not kill their own teams though.
Unlike Kobe.

Iverson wasn't a legend though. He was just an overrated chucker that everyone loved rooting for because he was smaller than everyone else.

for top 10 players...Shaq was pretty terrible at the end, though not as bad as kobe. Lets see...Wilt probably ended his career on the highest note for a top 10 player, and for being 36 years old, unless you count MJ's 1998 season as his last. Kareem was less than average, but still a useful body. Magic was probably right behind wilt and MJ if his career ended in 1991, but he did come back himself in 95-96 i believe and he wasn't a bad player, but not top 10 material at that point. Bird was injured but not embarrassing at same time like Kobe is atm. Hakeem was clearly not the same player but he wasn't embarrassing like Kobe. Russell did enough to finish on top, though he was nothing special by the end himself. Duncan is proving to come out of the game a very good player, very impressed given that it was clear he had lost a few steps by 2010 and then somehow bounced back despite getting older. Oscar went out injured but even by then was still useful while on the court. Not sure how Erving went out, but I'm sure it wasn't this bad. Barkley isn't top 10 material but at the end he lost EVERYTHING. If in fact he was top 10 material i'd put him ahead of Kobe as most embarrassing way to leave, although Barkley did only play ONE game upon returning.
So probably the worst top 10 level players at the end of their careers were Kobe, then Shaq then Hakeem.

Those guys werent playing a primary role on their teams though. Kobe is playing 30 mins and taking 16 shots a night and hitting 35%, while being a matador on defense.

None of these players had an achilles tear at 34-35 yo.
This is the worst injury in sports, by far.
Kobe has also like the 3rd most mileage ever.
It's not fun to watch him struggle but in the big picture it doesn't matter at all, lakers are still losing big when he's not playing, so he's just kinda playing for fun.
All these overreactions are pretty stupid considering that it doesn't impact his legacy.

Ofcourse it does! That's why his legacy is taking a hit before our very eyes and nobody could aiders him a top 15 player anymore!

well that's the point, nobody really cares about kobe playing bad after the biggest injury in sports aside from a few of you, lebron retards.
This is just pathetic, you're trying to kick a man while he's down, because you couldn't even touch him when he was the best player 06-10 and dominating your teams left and right.
This is a legend of the highest level, show some respect

Sorry but I don't respect scrubs, and that's exactly what Kobe is right now.
15 ppg on 31% :facepalm Not even Kobe's biggest haters could have predicted he would be THIS bad.

He's in his 20th season after the biggest injury in sports not named death or complete paralysis of the body.
Do you realize that he had the best longevity out of all pg-sg-sfs ever?
I know you bash him every chance you get, but just try to understand this, there's no shame in intelligent discussion.

Stop bringing up the fact that this is his 20th season. That might work if he wasn't shot jacking...but he is. If you are going to take 19.3 shots per 36 minutes like you are still some star...then you are going to be criticized like one when you are absolutely horrendous. You might have a point if he wasn't chucking, but he is, so you don't.

This part matters.
Who's more to blame for Kobe's obviously too large of a role? Scott, Lakers brass, or Kobe himself?
Because if we were to give Hakeem and/or Ewing the same amount of minutes and responsibilities that Kobe's been given, they would have likely been just as bad.
I have no problem with Kobe still out there trying to play, but I do have a serious problem with the coach allowing it to happen in such a bad fashion. Limit his minutes, run the offense through someone else. Let Kobe be the secondary scorer or something, and play off Randle and Clarkson.

I still do, because the Lakers aren't going anywhere whatever way he's playing.
Look at what the youngings did today, clarkson 2-11, young, who somehow tried to criticize Kobe - 3/10.
This isn't a good team, if Kobe was on the spurs or warriors trying to jack shit up it would matter. It really doesn't matter now, he could average 25 FGA and the result would still be the same with the way the the team is structured and having scott as headcoach

KAJ in 88-89 was a shell of himself. Could not defend or rebound, and even his efficiency had left him at that point.
Might have been better than current Kobe, but not by much.
