Posters with jobs or school would likely be in bed or if they're awake it's probably for a reason other than posting on insidehoops. Looking at RealGM, they have a player comparisons board... They have a "Kobe thread" "LeBron thread" "Curry Thread"

Looking at their General Board, there are only two Kobe threads on the first page, and no LeBron threads... There are some Warrior threads, game threads, Wiggins thread, etc... Much more balanced discussion on their main forum page. What makes you think that individual threads could have worked? If the mods either deleted the excess threads, or merged the individual player threads into one, I don't see why it couldn't work.

I think the thing is... people come here for a different reason than RealGM. When they want rigid, mundane, pleasantville basketball convo, they go there. When they want funny, flaming, zany convo they come here.

But we're not supposed to ban someone a week for making a thread that is basically basketball discussion. So if we make a thread titled, "General Kobe Discussion" at least half the posters will ignore it because they want the attention of having made their own thread so it's pointless.
