View Full Version : Can we shut the **** up about Anthony Davis now?

CJ Mustard

Rough start to the season, but now he's easily reestablished himself as the best PF in the game, leaving Blake Griffin in the dust. If he had anything resembling a team around him right now he'd carry them to a top 4 seed in the West.

How could he leave someone in the dust that has better numbers than him? :oldlol:

Oh, and Blake has 20/6/2 on 10-11 shooting in the 2nd quarter right now. :applause:

He's 22 years old and is better than Blake Griffin has ever been or ever will be. What were you expecting? Wilt 2.0? He will go down as one of the greatest big men ever.

And he did **** all when the game was on the line and his team lost convincingly at home. AD carried his team to a victory and was more efficient (and outrebounded Blake significantly too). Try watching the games asshole.

But you're a Durant fan. So you're used to watching superstars fall short when it matters most. You're numb to it at this point.

And yo, Davis is about to go on a TEAR now that his point guard/best friend Ty Evans is back

Seriously the incompetence of the Pelicans guards so far in feeding Davis has been painful to watch

Evans gonna supply the good looks Anthony tends to crave, and once Anthony gets one or two spoon fed buckets, he's off to the races

Some call him a front runner, I call him the fantasy King. Welcome back Tyler Evans.

Not sure if you're talking about the Pelicans or the Clippers here. Both teams are trash. Would've been out in the first round in 2014 (a year they were favorites to win the West) if it wasn't for a BS suspension. Tony Allen put the clamps on him. He was also mediocre against the Spurs that year, pretty much costing them the closeout game. I don't even need to bring up the 2013 Playoffs either.

Please. Blake single handedly carried his shit team tonight to make it even somewhat competitive. Face it, it's still a race between these two. Poor Anthony's been a lowkey disappointment this year. 4 wins on the year ain't cutting it, Ceej.

:oldlol: At the rate the Clips are going, it'll take no time for the Pels to catch them. And that's with their team being crippled to start the season. Not to mention they are nowhere near as talented as the Clips to begin with.

You're comparing a guy with a playoff resume to a guy that doesn't have one

Durant consistently wills his team late in games to W's and he's been doing it for years. ISH Smith was the one willing the Pelicans tonight let's be real... Davis basically did nothing because he needs to be spoon fed easy baskets, has no go-to moves and can't hit a J consistently

Anthony's my dude but Durant's in a different universe

BTW, Durant was 23 when he led his team to the finals. Davis is approaching that age right now. So if you wanna hold him to that standard we can do that.

And don't say OKC was stacked because they had Westbrook/Harden.... that nonsense has been debunked. The 2012 Thunder were not a great team outside of Durant

Eric Gordon is an all star this year.

Ish Smith is the real savior for the Pels. He might even be a better fit as a starter than Jew Holiday.

Not in the Playoffs. Westbrook was flat out better than him in the 2014 Playoffs. Especially in conference finals.

Davis has been to the Playoffs once at 22 years old with a shit team and put up 32/11 on 52%. :oldlol: Numbers pretty much equivalent to or better than KD's best Playoff run.

Eric Gordon is literally garbage. Ish Smith isn't good either. The Pelicans guards are awful, inefficient, terrible passers/playmakers, etc. Jrue and Tyreke and the only one's who would even be in the Clippers guard rotation, and probably as the 3rd string guard.

Yet his PER at 21 years old was higher than KD's has ever been, or will ever be. Yet his Playoff numbers last season (against an all-time great team) were as good or better than KD's have ever been. Stop it. Davis at 22 >>>>>>>>>> Durant at 22 and it's not remotely close. Davis last year >>>>>>>>>>>> Durant this year. How did Russ manage on his own last year?
2015 was an injury plagued season for both of them and KD missed most of the year. In 2013 KD was healthy and had Westbrook healthy all season and they were already the 2nd seed in the Playoffs playing a garbage Houston team before Westbrook got hurt. KD still managed to almost lose to this Houston team (went 2-2 in games without Westbrook) then got smashed in the 2nd round.

If anything, Westbrook carried them further. They were well out of the Playoff race last year before he came back and brought them within a game of the Playoffs.

When Russ was out in 2014 , KD put up GOAT level numbers and the team was 12-4.

he's had an awful year so far, but he's a pretty good jump shooter. Even tihs year in the awful "16<3 range" he's at 44.7% which is REALLY good. HIs 10-16 needs to come up and it will. Same with 3-10 and we all agree he needs more shots 0-3 I'm sure.
