so hes just like his comparison LeBron...

Kawhi

His skillset allows him to dominate a game without having to shoot. He will figure it out though, just has to keep putting up shots daily. It's not like his form is broken.

simple mechanical flaw. Not squaring up enough and his follow through is a bit weak. a summer with a professional shooting coach will clean this up no problem.

Shooting is the most common thing to improve on. The hardest skills to get he already possesses, he will be fine in the long run, if he put in the work, even if he struggles at first.

^ yeah true and most people don't have NBA 3 range at 18/19

Seriously GTFO with the shooting improvement comments.

You can become an adequate 0.33-0.35 three pointer shooter if you don't have a shot at age 18/19, but you'll probably never become an elite shooter.

Ive seen him shoot in warmups IRL at EYBL he doesnt miss. Of course game shots and working out is a lot different

That's his obvious weakness right now, although you have to keep in mind he's 6-10.

He's a very difficult player to describe - and to evaluate. As I've said before, he's kind of a mix between LeBron, Blake, Magic, and Lamar Odom. Neither a SF nor a PF, more like a positionless point forward... obviously outside shooting will always help, but he has so many other qualities that he can contribute from the get-go even without it.

Honestly, it's difficult to imagine someone with such an NBA body AND such a feel for the game not becoming a star if he puts his mind to it. He'll have his own style, but he'll find a way.

Get it in your head. Andrew Wiggins is a scrub. Wiggistans are always so defensive, 24/7/365.

Wow jameer you're right. You should be an NBA scout. it's not like he has access to the best coaching in the world and can improve his jumper. Minus well just go play over seas now and not bother with the NBA

If he's doing what he's doing, "without a shot", ****....

He doesn't need to a Curry type of shooter. He has other set of skills that will allow him to dominate. If he can shoot well enough for defenses respect his shot and give him some room to penetrate he will be fine.

yet he still dominates on the court.

jumpers are the easiest part of your game to develop if you have decent/good mechanics and work ethic. simmons has that.

Most of them looked like good misses, but simply a one off bad drill.

So what does everyone reckon? Surely this guy, with the things that he has displayed so far... He's better than the previous hyped forwards, right? I.e. Parker and Wiggins?

Edit: If you had the last two NBA drafts, plus 2016, whos the top 5?

He's scary versatile. A weird rough mix of LeBron and Anthony Davis in playing style.

would you say he's mix between blake griffin and a rich man's boris diaw?

Great handles, can catch a rebound and dribble it down the court to either playmake, score, or set up the offense

Blake is an amazing cog in the Clippers #1 ranked offense the past two years. Blake doesnt stall an offense hes a key cog that keeps the engine running like Simmons, and Karl Anthony Towns

One of the weaknesses of kwahi Leonard coming into the NBA was his lack of shooting ability

So far this season he is shooting 52/46/85

Pretty much takes a dump on your opinion

Tell that to Ricky.

or Rondo.

or every big in the league who can't shoot FT's, which should actually be even easier to improve than a jumpshot.

he's still gonna be good tho

Yeah he's already very good even without a reliable jumpshot, how much more if he had one?

Plenty of folks also said that Jordan had no jumpshot when he entered the NBA. (Not saying that Simmons will become as good as MJ.)

This. He needs to tear that jumper down and build it back up again into something functional

Crazy how he can dominate the game without a reliable jumpshot. Last games stats for example

14rebs 10asts 3stls 3blks 0tos

If he gets a somewhat decent jumper

He's easy to figure out. He will be shut down like Rondo and what Pop did to LBJ in the finals.

His mechanics aren't terrible, it's just a matter of repetitions now.
People talking about Rubio shooting, have anyone see the vine posted like 2 days ago about Rubio shooting in practice? His form is perfect, text book... and he's still not an even average shooter.. but he's improving slowly.

Repetitions is what matters, if you can repete the way you score even if has flaws it's all good.

I don't give a flying fucc. If the Lakers are anywhere near that pick, they take him.

I'm not gonna support a Team who spends a year scouting the Top player coming out of college only to choose someone based on the type of player that won The Finals that same year. If his shooting is that ****ed up get him a shooting Coach, just like Okafor's lack of Defense shouldn't have been the deciding factor to pass on him. Should've just fired Byron's stupid ass and hired a defensive minded Coach like Thibs to mold his attitude.
