I mean, when I normally think of Hindus I just think of like these humble people who worship elephants; but now that I think about it, there's a ton of money to be made in India and I also remember Hindus throwing insanely extravagant wedding parties, that money has got to come from somewhere, so it makes sense that they make a ton.
And as for the armpit fcking, I have never heard of that in my life. I've heard of some pretty messed up stuff that goes on at BYU Idaho though, but here in Provo things are pretty chill (at least from what I've seen)

(Hindu) Indians are usually occupied in tech or medicine field, so they getting paid really really well cuz they're smart

People always stereotype them as 7/11 owners but that's prob a smaller portion. Even those guts make good money as store owners.

somehow theyre low-key killing it though, only 9% in the 30k area... that clerk position is a minimum wage spot

that stat pretty much means theres a ~50% chance vishaltotheg is making 6figs

Op Muslims primary focus is spiritual development and living lean

They are closest to Jews and Christians in faith

Hindus are polytheistic and quite different faith wise to Muslims despite looking similar dye to geographical adjacency of Pakistan and India during the Mughal Empire. They depend on older texts like the Vedas and have poojas

Most certainly they are store owners.

With that money, they can send their kids to med school.

Think about it, it makes sense. 80s and 90s, they were known as 7/11 owners.
Nowadays, they're more known to be doctors or tech engineers.

thats assuming money = med school

For most 1st generation immigrants/refugees, the parents are super hard on the kids to do good in school and finish something that is well paying. It's the same with most Muslim families I know, same with my family. My sister is in the medical field, I'm in the process of completing my engineering degree, and my brother is starting college next year. OP's graph didn't surprised me to see that 30% Muslims make under 30k, a lot of em are 1st generation, coming from nothing usually because of war/3rd world countries.

Then again, 65% make more than 30k which I'm assuming is close to the national average for household? Not bad.

Yep, makes sense. Of my 400 or so Indian (Hindu) friends on Facebook all of them are making 60k, with most in the 150k range.

It is because our parents surround us with education from a very early age. My Hindu parents were immigrants but they made sure my sister and I spent most of our free time reading books (free education) and spending all their money on stuff for us (e.g., music lessons, SAT classes).

My mom worked at K-mart and my dad was some temp at a biotech company washing glassware. It was hard on us growing up in a wealthy area (Bay Area) because we couldn't afford anything (nice shoes, a car when you are 16, etc) and didn't realize why parents were sacrificing nice luxuries (to pay rent) until we became adults.

The difference between Indians (Hindus) and other immigrants is that the ones that come to the US from India are already somewhat well off/well educated when they get here. My mom had a PhD in India and left to come here and be a checkout clerk. They understand hard work, sacrifice, education and instill those values here.

Edit: The next generation of Indian kids are going to be screwed up though. Once people have money they are significantly less hard on their kids usually/kids take stuff for granted. My Indian friends that had rich parents growing up either are now wildly successful (CEO's of startups), or wildly free spirited Americans (e.g., move to NY, take pictures, and fail at holding down a career job).

Prolly, but that's the benefit of being born into privilege? If you make over $34,000 a year you are in the top 1% of earners in the world.

"...And the global median income is just $1,225 a year, meaning that the world's emerging middle classes are very far from reaching a level of wealth which would make them well-off by western standards."

I know I don't need to be hard on them. The only thing I'll force them to do is read lot's of books, and teach em financial literacy (how not to go into debt being an idiot basically). I'd rather my kids fully enjoy being kids (e.g., not going to pressure them to get A's, but rather to find things they enjoy doing). Eventually, they'll fail probably (maybe 18-26 will be hard), but like I've seen with almost all of my friends from good families, they'll find their path and start crushing it financially from 27+. Pushing kids that come from privilege too much only creates resentment and outlandish behavior. I'll give them experiences (send them abroad etc).
