40% is money?
Statistically it probably is. Defenses are more locked in at the end of close games, and all the starters are playing. I'd imagine field goal % dips a little bit in the closing minutes, especially on iso's, which is what most teams feel compelled to play at the end for some dumb reason.
There's a reason guys like Kobe shoot 16% in the clutch or somethin like that, and it's not just because he's an enormous choker (altho that's most of it)

Yeah percentage is low, but you need to watch the games, he has stepped up so many times already this season and closed out games, for a guy in his second year who has had his desire questioned it is really a thing of beauty.
A lot of his scoring too is off the dribble which he is still fine tuning.
Having a knack at scoring in the clutch is something you CANNOT teach and for Wiggins to possess this knack with all his other tools and it only being year two (the rest of his tools will develop greatly) it is fun to watch.

40% in the clutch situation may be elite because like a few have already mentioned, defense is more locked in, and the referees tend to swallow the whistles. Here are some notable numbers;
LeBron: 15-31 (48.4%)
Stephen Curry: 7-15 (46.7%)
Carmelo: 5-22 (22.7%)
Kevin Durant: 5-17 (29.4%)
James Harden: 7-26 (26.9%)
Derrick Rose: 8-21 (38.1%) (much higher than his season average 32%)

Wiggins is the man on a playoff seeded team. He'll be making way more of these shots and he just so happens to be more of a clutch player than Lebron. Wiggins will be one of the best clutch performers for years to come. :pimp:

He happens to be more of a clutch player than James when he hasn't played a single meaningful NBA minute as of yet? That's extremely odd.

:lol Okay, so at what point does it become meaningful? Do you just totally disregard the season?

It becomes meaningful in the playoffs, or let's say game 75 of the regular season when you're 0.5 games out and the game's on the line. That's when there is pressure. Not in game 15. And to say that Wiggins is more clutch than James is blasphemous. Talk to me when Wiggins does this:

Bookmarked, but your vid won't show. I figure it's either the buzzer beater when he was a Cav (pre-heat) or the buzzer beater last playoffs? Okay.

It was game 6 against the Celtics in 2012. And for the record, I hate James' guts, but that was one of the most clutch performances in the history of the NBA. We were all waiting for him to lose, but he stepped up like a man. Wiggins hasn't even sniffed that kind of pressure.

Statements like this are why he's going to have haters very soon. Obviously he's nowhere near as clutch as LeBron, who has an entire career of clutch moments that rival all of the greats (except for like Bird and MJ or something).
When you equate a guy with a couple clutch games, 15 games into his second season of his entire career to the former, you're really not doing him any favours. Just enjoy watching the guy become a superstar instead of comparing him to LeBron this early on. This is the same reason people hated Kobe fans - because to them he was as good as Jordan when he was like 21.
