Comcast sent a letter stating due to increased business costs, they will have to raise the price for all services starting in January of 2016 which will make the bill higher than it already is now.

Internet, sports package, and cable package is rising and I know I can't cancel because once I get home how will I be entertained?

SMH, only possible solutions below

1. Eat Out Less

2. Date someone I'm not attracted to

3. Get a second job

4. Find another internet provider that is not wireless

Pisses me off there is no other option for me that is cheaper because Comcast controls this area so they have me by the balls.

If you have to cut costs simply to keep cable in your budget, you may have bigger problems than merely how to get entertainment..

Netflix and Hulu costs about $10/month individually.

You can get sporting events by live streams.

The reason why Netflix is useless to me is because I like to watch TV in bed before I go to sleep. And N@N is not on netflix.

Sling tv for 20 bucks...netflix for 10. 60 bucks a year for ballstreams. HDMI out to your tv. You wont miss a single sport or show you care about.

I remember when twc 3 service package got to $200 after taxes... that's where I drew the line. Got a streaming box for my parents which was a 1 time fee and cut the cord on the TV. Does it suck when I wanna watch an NBA game in HD? Yeah. But I'm happy dropping only 50 a month nowadays. If you go to the reddit nbastreams, you can find HD links.

Also, I download all my shows and watch them on TV. Is it convenient? Not at all :oldlol: but I'm not lazy.

Prioritize.

Can you not broadcast live streams from your computer to a TV via Chromecast?

Funny that i can watch a old game on the computer but not a live game. For live games I prefer the TV of course, bigger screen

Learn how to setup a Slingbox, you can access your cable package anywhere in the world, or split the cost with another.

Internet & TV (for a bigger screen) is all you need. Link your laptop/PC to your HDTV if you feel like watching a movie on Netflix & that's it. And for shows or movies that aren't on Netflix. Project Free TV or movie4k should do it. The only thing you're paying for in cable is the f*cking commercials, not only you're paying for it, it also ruins your experience by potentially killing the suspense.

Yeah, no thanks.

Not sure if serious, but of course. :lol

Link your laptop to your TV and live on 'extended display'.

Think of the TV as a PC monitor, it would still be the same, still your OS (Windows 7, 8, 10?), just a bigger screen.

Connected to a cord, which isn't a big deal. It all depends on your setup.

Streams running in different tabs AND with each showing on both screens, Game #1 on your HDTV, Game #2 *Don't give a **** about this game, but still wanna watch it* on your PC/Laptop monitor. ISH/Twitter/Facebook during commercial breaks or what have you.

So, streams running in different tabs, so still no worries there - don't tell me you're that lazy. lol

I can't stand PiP screens, I like it on full, it's why I have my setup like this. More fluidity with the mouse/keyboard, less remote control action with its mini-second delay.

Chromecast $35, but, either way works.

You can do the same exact thing except much more conveniently with literally any streaming device.
Two streams running concurrently might lag.

comcast is raping the public like a necessary utility. most people arent going to go the side routes for tv services where they know and abuse it.

first they forced digital service with all kinds of forced service plans. now they just keep upping the price. just think $100-$200~ averages per household/month :coleman:

Call up your local Comcast center and threaten to cancel your subscription first. I've heard that alone can lower your bill.

The Retention Department.

Yes, they will make all attempts to lower your bill, especially if you are a long-time existing customer. They have access to special discount codes.

AT&T gave my father HBO and redzone for a year after threatening to cancel.

He cancelled it, they called back two days later with their offer.

How is the controller for fire stick? I have a Roku right now, but the controller for it blows. You literally have to point directly at the Roku at certain angle or it doesn't register.

Would Ballstreams work on fire stick?

I bought a hacked Firestick with Kodi for 100 bucks a few weeks ago. I'd never heard of Kodi before that. Since then I've started ****ing around Kodi on my tablet.

It's a good alternative. But my addiction to live sports, particularly this time of year when basketball is all over the place, is too great for it to be more than a supplement for me at this point.
